Hi all, absolutely shocking! I have seen it in films but never known anyone myself! For the last few days there has alot of commotion in my area.
3 days ago a boy of 9 was kidnapped on his way to school after lunch. It seems he has been kidnapped for his kidneys. This happens alot here apparently.
His parents are completely freaking out. The police are searching the vicinity but to no avail and it's a pretty much a given that they young boy has been taken far off to another place in India, probably a major city like Mumbai or Delhi for his organs leaving us no trace at all!
All parents here are petrified now. Schools are very nearby, walkable distances, but still kids are known to go missing.
I know the family, the father is a cowherder, and I get my milk from them. Such a gentle character, but he doesn't have the funds being pretty poor to motivate a full on search.....so.....dead end.
Have you come across anything like this in your local area?

Please help him using all the local helplines and contacting the local influential people, local Corporator,MLA,police station, news paper office and TV station. Let the news spread like wild fire. Sent the photographs to news agencies, TV station and police station. Help them to the best of your ability and pray to God. Some miracle might take place.
So far no such things have happened in our local area. I daily pray for all. I am praying for them too. Hoping to get updated on this. Wishing them only the best. May God help them.

I would love to get involved Meapas and I am sure some people are on the case. But I am seen as a Foreigner here and so am not allowed to get mixed in with local politics. The locals also speak only telegu and I can't speak a word of it, so its all abit tricky, but thank you so much for your prayers.

I am sorry to have learned this, Crime is everywhere. Due to poverty, people tend to do bad things in order to survive, what we can do is be vigilant or always take precautionary measures. I felt bad for the boy's family, I only hope that they will get to find him before it's too late...

Hi sritrinity,
Yes it is really shocking news. As a mother I can understand the feeling of those parents. Without knowing the fate of their child, without knowing what exactly happened to their child, the situation indeed horrible. These parents are financially poor and they are not in a position to force the authorities that is another sad thing. In my opinion culprits are easily traceable if the police people are doing their duty sincerely. Sadly the system is also corrupted. Reports are coming from different places about missing cases. People those who have money and power can save their kids and if it happens with common people nobody there to care.

Oh...Sreekala, it is so sad! What a sad world we live in. I can not even imagine what the parents must be going through. I think I would probably go totally and if that happened to me. I feel so sick to the stomach. I see so many children playing on the street and now worry for them!
What type of a life can a child have if they can't even walk to school of play with their friends???
Does this type of thing happen in Delhi?

There have been unpublised cases in my country. I only knew of ssyndicates doing this after my mentally challenged son was kidnapped. We were united after two weeks. After that a rough framework of what transpired came out.
He went out by himself, and was taken by a person or a group of people, and kept in the town for at least three days. It seems that victims were fed just enough, so that they can walk, but not run. He was then taken to Johor Baru, and was instructed to walk across the border during one peak hour. Fortunately he did not understand the instruction, and stayed put
Initially immigration officers though he was waiting for someone from across the border. The next day they saw him still sitting at the same spot, hungry, thristy, and dirty. Only then they realised he was not normal, and called the Welfare Department.
The office in charge did not know what to do as he had no ID with him. He could only say his nickname. So the officer started checking the newspapers for any missing child report.
I am not sure whether the syndicate or any other similar groups are still active. However I do know that there are stricter border checks. A new version, reported in the news, is finding poor people from a neighbouring country willing to sell one of their kidneys. I do not have the link because I read it in a local newspaper. Two men were caught, selling one kidney each for more than USD20,000.
The men and the doctor were brought to court, but how many cases went undetected? Next in demand are corneas.

I am soooooooooo happy that you got your son back!!!! My God what a story! Thank God they left him at the border on his own and he wasn't forced to walk across. Otherwise no doubt once across he would have perhaps gone forever. Thank you for sharing that enlightening story with us.
My best wishes and regards to your family.

I have heard of this kind of this occurring, so far not in my country but you never do know...It is the most horrifying thing; it is not fathomable to me how any person can do such things to children, it is the evil of greed I guess.
I pray with all my heart that the young boy you speak about is found, I cannot imagine his parents’ state of mind.
I live in Australia but I was born in Italy and my mother told me that this kind of horrific crime does happen over there too.
It is too horrible for words; it really is…The world is a very sad place...

Hi there Paula, thank you for getting me back on this and sharing your thoughts with me, it helps to be able to talk about it. You know I am really confused, i think the people who get roped into doing it must be really suffering in some financial way, must themselves be really poor, or perhaps are being blackmailed into doing it....because I just can't understand how people can just bring themselves to kidnap like that.
I understand that behind them is some organised gangster scenerio and it's just basic greed motivating them, but the people who do the dirty work surely they are just poor indians who are in dia need of cash perhaps.
Indeed this world is a very very sad place.

That is a horrific ordeal to have to go through! Reading some of the responses has shocked me! I am a parent and losing my children is a huge fear! I had heard of these things happening in Asian countries, but to listen to people talking about their own experiences makes it more real! I had no idea that it was so common!
I am glad that I live in Australia, I could never imagine that sort of thing happening here!
I am also glad that the boy has been found and is safe! That is wonderful news!

Cool, I am so glad that the boy was found! My daughter went missing on two separate occassions at public events when she was younger! Both times we found her about half an hour later, but it was such a scary experience for me to go through, I can not imagine having to deal with it for a long period!
Yes kids do go missing over here too, but it is not that common thankfully!

Big responsibilty being a parent. Best of luck. Thanks for dropping in....I'll be printing these responses off and showing them to the kid and his parents soon. It'll tickle them pink.

Hello sritrinity. It is so sad to hear the kidnap of the poor boy. I seem to have heard about this kind of kidnap for human parts. It is so disgusting of the kidnap. It is like killing people for their life. I hope the government will take some more effective measures to deal with it. I hope the boy will be back to his home very soon with the help of the police with good luck. Take care, friend.

No, I have not come across this in my area... but down South in Mexico, such things may also be taking place...
It is horrible that people would even want to harm a child to make a profit.
I can understand why everyone is afraid of such people as they have lost their humanity as people...
To value one person even if they be wealthy or powerful more than a poor child is barbaric and inhuman. I have nothing but contempt for such people and a wish that they somehow learn how to love as real people do.

very sad and very scary. my son is 8 and not allowed outdoors unless i am with him. he is certainly not allowed to walk anywhere alone or stay at the bus stop alone. why? because of despicable and disgusting things like this. children are so vulnerable when left to their own devices.

Yes Mikeysmom, I totally understand your worries and isn't it so sad that kids have such little freedom nowadays!
When I was young, it was really safe on the streets, I mean I would never go too far, but I was always allowed to play with friends on the streets and at parks etc....but nowadays it seems that one should keep them close at all times.
Where things different in your time?

I have not heard of this in my local area. But several years back i obtained a "Time" magizine that had an article about this kind of stuff. They were saying that rich people were buying human organs. Where they got them from was homeless children that wre being kidnapped from the streets of countries like Guetamela, etc. That is all so horrible. I cant imagine why these rich people think they can do this. Pray for the return of the boy.

I am glad that the child you mentioned first here was found uninjured...
I am sorry that any other children or adults have ever been kidnapped for any purpose...
and especially sorry that criminals have ever gotten away with harvesting organs from people against their will and without their permission.
I am glad that your friend now has his child back. There is a cause for a celebration.

Hi sritrinity, nothing like that happens here but I have read about it happening in other countries and it is a truly repulsive practice.
A friend on here mentioned the other day that the practice is now happening in Malaysia too but I had not realised that it was happening in India. From what I understood previously this was happening in some rich Arab countries where foreign workers were targeted and in one instance a child was kidnapped, a kidney stolen, and she was then returned with a large amount of money.
There is more than one crime here: the rich person who demands the organ believing his wealth can buy anything, the criminal who carries out the kidnapping to provide the unwilling donor, and the Doctor who is willing to to this disgusting thing against all medical ethics. The whole thing is brought about by one person who believes he has the right to something which money should not be allowed to buy.
I presume from the way you describe it that the child will now vanish and not be returned. This is truly horrific.

I think the same thing can happened anywhere. The reason is because a kindney's price in black market is very expensive. That's why there's alot of criminals specialize in kidney trading. They can hurt anyone only for get a kidney. This is like a robberin scheme, but they rob your kidney. As i know so far, a kidney in black market can be more than $10,000 each. Of course this is a big sum of money. I think the authorities should apply some protection scheme and tracing scheme for any kidney implant on hospital. So everything can be traced if there's any suspicious found. Usually such thing happened in big city. The reason is big city has complete infrastructure for doing kidney implantation. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Yes I do think that is the way forward each organ donated should be able to be verified properly! And the people getting the organ (kidney) should also make it a darn point to check it's authenticity!

Thanks! I'm not sure if it's happening or not, but on the show that I saw, a teenager had been attacked and had a kidney stolen from him. The father of a sick girl arranged the attack so that his daughter could have a kidney. The boy ended up dying from infection and the father was charged with manslaughter. It was just a tv show, but I'm sure that it has happened before. What a terrible thing!!

That is so sad!!! makes me want to go home and hugs my little boys... I don't know how the parents will be able to survive such pain. I think it's still a lot better to be safe than sorry, I make sure that my boys are always accompanied by their older cousin and I don't allow them to walk to school. I try to make sure that they have a service like school bus to fetch them.

Hi there!
It is really very sorry state of affairs that a poor man's son goes missing and no one comes forward to help. You see even the Police people prefer to serve those who are mighty and powerful. They probably do not bother about the poor people. I think he (the father of the child)should lodge a Police comlaint about his missing son and now a days even on-line complaints are registered and one can write to the senior mos Police Officer through emails, that method could also be resorted to. Hope his sons comes back safe.

Oh my sritrinity~ This is completely horrific! They are kidnapping
young children for their organs! That is the most awful thing!
And they just grab them at random? This is so terrible and there
