why can't some parents control their kids?

some kids are disrespectful they say and do what ever they want, then their parents defend them.

My children are disrespectful and try to do what they want, but I don't defend them, its embarassing. I am not sure how to deal with it, because you are not allowed to disipline your children anymore. And hense this is what we get.
