Do laptop cooling pads even work that great?

Saw a laptop cooling pad that was super cheap as compared to what it normally goes for and I was strongly considering getting it. Anyone have any experience with these? Do they work that well? Do they kind of work poorly? What's your experience or maybe even thoughts about it? Thanks to those who give me some idea :)

hello! my computer is a laptop and i use it more than 12hours a day so i'm using a USB laptop cooling stand not pad. It does work very well and my laptop doesn't get hot. i recommend u to buy it specially when u use your laptop for a long time. it also has several USB ports so you can connect more USB gadgets. ^^;

I'll have to look into it if I can find one cheap. If all else fails i'll probably just try sticking to this really low-priced cooling pad. :p Going to read a bit more into it before considering it.

I was considering buying one myself a few months back as my laptop was over heating and turning itself a lot. I could not afford a cooling pad so i just took the bottom off the laptop and hoovered all the dust out. After that its fine for a few months until i have to do it again. Also i find it doesnt get as hot if i use the laptop on a table rather than my lap. And i dont leave my laptop on stand by as the fan does not always seem to work as well after.

Yeah, when they're full price they're quite expensive. I probably wouldn't consider it but it's just so cheap right now. However, if it doesn't really even work I wouldn't want to waste my money on it no matter how cheap!

I use a desk top computer but if I had a laptop, I would get a cooling pad for sure for it. Check on ebay, you might be able to find a good deal. I think they are important to have, specially if you use your laptop alot. My sister had bought a new laptop, it kept over heating. She had to get it fixed, she now using a cooling pad with a fan, she doesn't have any more trouble with it. The bottoms of laptops can get very hot, I wouldn't think that would be good for it.

I think the idea of a cooling pad is great, and actually I didn't know they existed before I read your post! I always get really annoyed when I have been using a laptop for a while and I feel really warm, so I think a cooling device would be brilliant. Unfortunately I can't help you by telling you how effective they are because I have never tried one!

I am using cooling pad for my laptop and the heat in the hard disk is getting reduced greatly. The performance of the computer is also increased. Prior to the use of cooling pad, my system will start perform slow after the usage of just one hour(Mine is Hp pavilion dv1000 notebook PC and this model will get hot very sooner). But now the problem not there. But on the other hand, I am not able to keep my left hand on my laptop as the heat at the bottom is transferred to the top of the laptop and now we can not rest my hand there for more time. As this is not affecting the system any way, they system is working well. But I am not able to work for a long.
