If you were old would you like to be with your children or in an old age home???

Let us reason about this, I think that I would like to be able to do things for myself so I would prefer a home that allows me to with supervision, some other old age homes allows you to be taken care of with no such priviledges. I do not think I would like to burden my children with the responsibilty or imposing on me.

I would want to be with my family. I have worked in nursing homes. Even the ones that "look" good to a visitor, aren't any good. (at least the ones I've seen). I worked at one that was supposed to be really nice, it was a newer building & they had everyone fooled. one day the state came in for a surprise inspection, they weren't in the building 5 minutes when everybody that worked there knew about it & had been told to be sure they were doing everything right. (yes, while they were there, everything was done right).

Preferably I would like to be with children by ensuring my presence should in any way inconvenient to them. Most of Indian families have a strong family bondage and it is working.

I think I would want to be with my children too. Depending on if i needed a lot of care or not. I would probably stay in a completely different section of the house so I didn't disturb their privacy!

Although my daughter always says she'll build me a granny flat behind her house, I think I would prefer to be in a home with others my own age and not burden my family

I`m looking forward to being old enough to move into a retirement village. but if I`m of poor health then I`d feel safer with family. I hope my children will be in the situation and nice enough to 'want' to do that.

It depends on children. If they want parents, they can have them. IF children feels the burden, the other option is home for aged.

I would like to be with my children. Yet, as long as I can live by myself, I would try to live by myself. If I get to the point I have to have care everyday, I would rather bein homes with other older people.
