I think old friends are more important. A friend you've known for awhile, you've bound to have gone through a lot with him/her while a new friend might be more interesting but would not be able to compare to a pal who stuck by you all those years. I like making new friends but I would never neglect my old ones

Old friends are more reliable as they know who you really are. They normally would share their thoughts and secrets with you. You will know it because the way they communicate with you. You also notice that they will respond to you even though they are busy. Real friends are normally old friends because the time you had spent with them they will understand you. However, we must not neglect new friends but to accept them with our best intention. For this discussion, it is definitely old friends are more trustworthy. Good luck in finding those who prefer new friends, I am not saying there isn't but much rare to find.

Friends are the leaves of life so the saying goes.with old friends you know exactly where you stand, you can tell by what they write if they are happy or sad,or maybe just trying to air their views and to a certain degree you can gauge their views.Or find something else about them it is a journey of discovery.New friends can be exciting building up a relationship with them and finding out about how they feel about things. If the communication starts up and says steady they become good friends as well.I am a people person and get a great deal out of sharing ideas and views.Sometimes you can view things from a different perspective as well it makes me think .

Old friends are more important as you know you can trust them to be there and they know more about you.

I think both are important. New friends means new relationship, new point of view and maybe new share of thoughts. But old friends are those that understand you after all these years, therefore they will have more information about you. Balancing both are better way, I think. You keep on making new friends and find new perspective, but you must keep in touch with your old friends too. We sometime forget our old friends, when we discover new friends. But sometimes old one are giving you much better relationship..

to me, both old friend and new friends are important. but if you ask me who is more important, I would say old friends are more important. It is not easy to keep good in good relation for a long time, if you are old friends, means you have overcome the test of time, means that you are true friends! Once friendship get lost, it is not easy to get it back! So cherish every one of your friends.
