Will you get mad or be happy about your kid's decision?
Yesterday, my brother told me that if he owned some kind of good business, he would quit school.
I told him that mother would be upset about his decision.
I know that there are a lot of people be successful without education, but this is still very difficult for me to accept.
Although I have no kids now, I can feel my mother's sadness.
What will you do if your kids want to follow their own dream, and quit to follow the bridge of knowledge?

well I am a single dad of 3 so I have this to come.
I can only go on my experience I was the boy you are talking about I left school at 16 as I didnt like school and thought further education was well not very good.
It was the right decision and I would do it again, I have friends who have degree's one even has a phd and they are working in customer services in banks and ones working in mcdonalds ?????????
I have no formal qualifications and am semi retired at 35 after running my own businesses
I dont think education is as important as people seem to think what I do think is you need the basics reading writing and a good grasp of numbers.
So I wouldnt be dissapointed as education doesnt guarantee you the best job or the highest income, where I think learning about life and following your dream has a better chance of success.

HI Minhminh0604,
funny that I ran across this discussion...have been going through similar circumstance...I feel your Mom's pain...a good friend finally convinced her to go back to college and so she'll hopefully begin in September. Sometimes kids will listen to anyone else but their parents...and so it has been that a good friend of ours had a little talk with her about the importance of having an education and a degree to back you up and to make more $$$.
Good luck with your brother, I am hoping he'll understand the importance of an education...Don't know where you are, but here in US you are nobody if you don't have a good education!

I am glad that she know what is good and bad for her.
It will be pity if she quit school.

As a parent, I experienced it. I am directing my son about the importance of education. I give freedom to them, to select faculty and departments in accordance with their interests and talents.
My first son is now studying in Management Information System, and the second son in Marketing Communication. My second son is a DJ.

You did a wonderful job in raising your kids.
I know being a parent is the hardest thing on Earth.
