Hello Mastinet, :-) One of the ways I have adopted to reduce expenses is to decrease the number of times u visit a shop. This is because nowadays things are packaged so attractively that v invariably end up spending more than we intended to. Second thing is draw up a monthly budget. Try to check where u are going wrong in comparison with this. Some of these may be justiable, others may not. And we all are already facing the impact of spurt in prices of food. So everybody's budget has taken some beating. :-)

Stop impulse spending. Don't buy things just because you see it. Think through whether you really need it or not. Stopping frequent visit to the shop like the first commenter said is a good idea too. Each time you visit a shop, you'll end up buying lots of thing, even stuff you might not even need. You can make a list and really stick to it. Most importantly, strong will power. Stop yourself from over spending. Good luck~~~

You are correct that first we have to judge ourselves that whether we really need the thing we are purchasing or not. Having an idea of genuine need is very important for savings and controlling the over expenses. Making proper monthly budget will also help a lot in controlling over expenses.

This is a good question. You can writ down all your expenses for a month and later go through it to find where you have spent unnecesasry and avoid spending for it in the next month. You can also make a plan that you will spend x amount of money for grovery, y amount of money to buy dress etc. Hope this will be helpful to you.
