This confusion about egg exists till now. Even though many governments declared egg as a vegetarian item, most vegetarian people avoid it. One step ahead pure vegetarian people avoid cakes because of egg content present in it. Some vegetarian hotels will have egg and some may not have. Friends What about ur opinion regarding this confusion??

It depends on how you clasify it, there are two kinds of vegetarians, aswell as people have different reasons to be so.
Vegetarians are people who dont eat meat, either because they dont like it or because they are against how the animals are keept which are used.
Then you have Vegans which are people who dont eat meat or any other outcome from animals (including eggs and milk), so they only eat vegetables, fruit, grain and so forth.

Exactly, and some people dont seem to be able to diffrentiate between them. Sometimes i think people do it because they think it is cool to be different, saying "im a vegetarian"

I believe you are very right about that fact, but i also find some especially teenagers saying they are vegetarians but yet they eat fish and chicken, but not meat, erm erm aint fish and chicken meat i ask? I think they do it because they find it "cool" to be a Vegetarian.
And yes milk is from the cow ;) I guess it depends on how extreeme vegetarian you are, if your vegetarian or vegan ;)

milk? that's still from cow, right? hehe!basically, the word vegetarian means eating plant-based food. although nowadays, there are many types of vegetarians according to their preference. some vegetarians exclude egg, meat and honey, but some people would include them. i guess vegetarians choose what they eat according to their culture, ethic, religion, stc. ^^;

Although Egg has been declared a vegetarian food, According to me it still is a non vegetarian food, I am a total vegetarian and do not consume eggs, the strong smell prevails in most of the food items prepared with eggs and it is difficult for a vegetarian to overcome it.

it is more of a personal choice. whether you like eating eggs or not. either way you can find reasons to justify it. it also very much depends on the environment you live in, your family culture and beliefs. i have a few friends who are vegetarian in 'home' and non-vegetarian 'outside'
