Where can I get $$ for my used ink cartridges?

I used to take these to Office Depot and get $3 per cartridge and could spend 3 or $9 worth in one shopping trip there. I took some back last week and they informed me that their policy had changed and they would only credit the $3/cartridge on my rewards card. Well, it only can be redeemed, I think they said every quarter. I do not understand this and I am very disappointed in their policy change.
Do any of you understand their policy now and can explain it to me and how we can redeem these reward points at the end of the quarter?
Do any of you know of any other places that pay to recycle these ink cartridges? I have lots and would like to get a little $$ out of them to help me buy more.
Any suggestions you have for making money with these ink cartridges is greatly appreciated!

I wish I could get cash for my used ink cartridges, but AFAIK,nobody here in the UK does this..one online points "Club", Mypoints, had a points for cartridges offer, and Tesco offer "Green Points" credited to your Storecard points balance,or they will credit the points to a charity on your behalf..hope it works out for You!

I found out about that policy as well recently too, I was also very disappointed I was looking forward to using the $9.00 towards envelopes. I think it is a big mistake on their part, as I am not going to know when I can use this at all. Staples used to give $3.00 as well, maybe try them, maybe they did not make the same policy change. You could always call them and ask, the closest one to me is about a 30 minuted drive, but it would be worth it if they still give you $3.00 credit per while you are there.
You could also try this site. http://www.freerecycling.com/

Thanks so much! We don't have a staples near us at all. I don't understand freecycle but I will check. Thanks and God bless you!
PS The post above said staples have chosen to use this same policy as Office Depot.
