emailing problems

i recently got an excel document downloaded to my email, i need to edit this document and email it back but I am having difficulty putting information in this document and saving changes--it is just not allowing me to do this
someone please help me fast!

Are you saving the spreadsheet to the hard drive first, or trying to edit it from the email?
You will not be able to save changes to it unless you save it first, so I suggest placing it on the desktop. After editing it simply insert it in an email and return it.
