I was 16 years old when I got my first job working downtown in Washington D.C. It was a summer job program I was a file clerk and did some typing as well. It was for the Engineers Dept. at the HEW Health Education and Welfare Office not sure what they call it now but that was back in the late 1970's.

My first officlal job just happened in June and I was 22 at the time. I did a lot of side jobs though in school such as babysitting, article writing and other odd jobs to earn money but my first official pay check job didn't happen until a few months ago. I'm not working there anymore though, I'm actually working at another center and I get paid a lot more to do the same job and I actually have the chance to get benefits with it so that makes me happy.

When I was about 15 my uncle made me work for him at a little fast food stablishment he owned back then. I learned to make burgers, and several other goodies.
It wasn't until I was about 19 or 20 when I got my first office job, I was just filing documents for this shelter (they administered several other companies) and paying payroll.
