Do nice guys really do finish last?

We've all heard that saying that "nice guys finish last". So is there a point where we shouldn't be nice? From experience and what I've seen from friends and people in general, nice guys do indeed finish last. Is this true though?? I don't usually believe in sayings like these, but it seems to be proven true all the time unless I'm wrong. Your views? thoughts?? :)

well I'm going to tell you from the perspective of "the nice guy"...sadly we do indeed finish last. Every time Ive ever dated, the guy always dumps me or uses me somehow or I'm just not good enough for him. What they did was take advantage of the fact that I'm a nice guy and when they are done they go for someone of lesser quality. Sadly good people with good morals and a good sense of honor are the ones trampled on most often these days.
