I'm a single mom who was out of the work force for awhile, then a couple years ago I went back. Since I'm a writer I thought about doing a research on moms returning to the work force. What kinds of tips would you give to a mom who has been out of the work force for about 8 years? How would she write a resume that would give her a chance to return to high payong job? Anything you want to add here would be useful in my research. Thanks you.

First is you can research online for a good resume format and then you can start formatting your resume as good as possible. Second is you can ask friends from the company that you are planning to apply what are the desirable stuff to put in your resume that are relevant for the application, and third is study and be acquainted with the newest trends since you were not in the office for 8 years and changes may have taken place. It is good to be aware and be competitive again.

mjsdls, I have been a stay at home mom for 13 years now and have not been able to find a job. I'm sure part of the reason is the present economy and so many people available for work. I have served a leadership position in my church and volunteered but that has not helped me. And I am an avid crafter and even the craft stores didn't hire me. It's very frustrating. so I am on mylot and other writing sites to try to make something from home.

I was able to get a job at a fast food restruant a couple years ago. But it was not as easy as it use to be considering I'm not as young as I once was. I was geting short tempered with the public and it was effecting my son and my relationship with God and myself. I had to quit and now I'm having trouble finding work again. I have taken corses for freelance copywriting jobs but I have not been hired for any of these either. But I'm not giving up, just need to know what God wants me to do and do it.
I wll keep you in my prayers, thanks
