I just sold my first item on eBay!

I've been a member of eBay since about 2001, and have bought many, many things, but never had the guts to try to sell anything seriously (a CD once, but there were no bids). Now that I'm moving, and need to clear out some of my junk, I decided to list my old printer (sans cables) and a brand new thing of DVD-Rs I'd bought for my ex boyfriend last year and never gave to him. They both sold! I was ecstatic! I got over $20 for the printer, and $1 for the DVDs. I didn't make a great profit on either item, but I was still so happy that I managed to part with some of my junk and make a few dollars as opposed to freecycling them (which is what I usually do). Just had to share. :)

eBay is a good place to sell--I hope you took into account the shipping on the printer! When I was being divorced I sold all my art and jewelry, music and books on eBay to pay my attorney's fees. It really saved my life. I don't like to buy on eBay anymore because people charge ridiculous shipping fees.

I charged $15 for shipping, which I'm hoping will be enough to cover it. It should be -- small packages generally cost me about $5 to send to the States (pretty ridiculous considering it costs me DOUBLE that to send in my own country), and it's not an enormous parcel. Honestly I'd just be happy to have got any money from it, so if the shipping cost cuts into my profit from it, so be it. After all it's a printer I've been hauling around without power or USB cords for 3 years, it was either try to sell it on eBay, try to give it away or take it to the recycle depot.

Congratulations! It's always nice when you can sell something and get a some money for it. i have sold a few things on ebay in the past. didn't make much from them but i was happy to get what i did. i would like to sell more but i don't like all there fees and when your not making much from what your selling as it is.. those fees take away money. bigger price items aren't so bad since your getting more money for them paying the fees aren't a big deal but when your selling something for $1-2 you don't really get any money at all after paying the fees. which sucks.

Congratulations! I remember when I sold my first ever item on ebay- what an adrenalin rush it gave me! It is a great site for getting rid of junk and you will be surprised at the prices that some items can go for.

I love ebay and I try to promote it as much as I am able. I do want to give a for warning that ebay is not free and you must take a look at what you can handle and so forth. Ebay has backed me and helped me a few times when it came to needed money. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting to you as well.

OH wow! Thanks for sharing, congratulations are in order. So was it difficult make a sale on Ebay or was it easy? You ought to feel very proud of yourself, that's a wonderful accomplishment, it's always a good feeling to get rid of a few things that you no longer want and to be able to make money from it is an extra bonus. Happy mylot!

I've sold quite a few on ebay, but no profit since I just want to get rid of them I've sold some things on kijiji too also things that I just want to get rid of so it's not much I like it because it's free and enough traffic but yeah I wish I make a sale that brings profit I haven't had that happened to me in both sites I never sold anything on craigslist although I get some emails asking for price
