Today my power went out and was out all day and we were all drawing talking and playing with the kittens our cat had so right now i'm asking what do you guys do when you are at home with your family and the power is out?

It hardly happens that there is no power & when in rare cases, there is no power more than 2 hrs, my Laptop will go off & this leads to serious irritation as I love to stay online always

when there is no power i either switch on my laptop and start myLotting or i switch on my iPod to listen to some of my favourite songs. if i do nothong then i go out and have a chat with my neighbourhood kids. anyway when we were kids and did not have the computers and iPods with us we used to play musical games. we all used to sit tigether and sing songs by turn. it used to fun. at times, as a kid i used to wish that the powers goes off so that we could sit together and play.

What a chance to just sit and read a book! I also used to play lots of board games with my kids through the day when the power was off. Another thing we liked to do was to work a jigsaw puzzle. That's the sort of things we did when the power was off!

Nice timing! earlier we had a power interuption. what i did was to avoid boredom, i went out and water the plants, remove some grass, and arranged the clay pots. I also read some pages of my favourite book. I'm left alone so i have no one to chat but if power interuption happen at night i usualy scare my little brother and tell him some creepy stories. In that way he'll be in bed early.

Ohhh, how I hate that!!! It just happened to me a couple of weeks ago, and went out for seven hours, ugh! I ended up reading a book I had on my shelf for years, haha, and I must say, it was an excellent book to read. I was almost done with it when it got dark out and then of course, I was REALLY aggravated because I wanted to finish it. So, ended up using a candle and read by that which wasn't easy. Then when I was finished I talked with my cat, Kashmere, and she was bored also even though she could see in the dark, lol! Finally, the lights came on and I was able to watch tv for a while before bed. Long day though!

when there's no power, i get dressed, i go out and take the kids with me... i can't cook without power since i am using an electric stove, and my rice cooker riuns on electric too... so we wend up dining out. it's expensive, but well worth the time i spend with them and the fun and the bonding!

Drink vitamis for extra power and eat sugar like sweet bread, candy, chocolate, it'll boost up your energy.Or go to sleep to renew. Or just lie down on the bed by reading novels.

I have some really great memories of power outages. Its a time to shut off the tv, computer and other electronics, and really actually talk to your family/friends. We go outside and play games, talk, or play board games by candle light. You really can take a step back from technology and really relate to the people around you.
