I think I had a season when I used to bite my ballpen too. But I think I didn't like it when the tip of the ballpen gets all distorted and sometimes would even develop sharp edges. I didn't have a hard time skipping the habit, I guess it's because I didn't have it long enough. What I do now it to flip my ballpen around like a baton twirler whenever I am thinking about something. I think it's a lot safer for my ballpen hehehe

hi jane. i can't remember doing that yucky thing. you don't know how dirty this thing is and you will just put it in your mouth and bite it? maybe kids do this, but frankly i can't remember i did that. i can see kids' pencil, especially if it's eraser is very little, so they bite it to let the remaining parts of the eraser to come out. that thing, maybe, i did it when i was a kid also.

Yes, i got the exactly same habit as you acquire. When i was going through a test, maybe a math test, some compicated stuffs just picked up my brain, for that momment iwill turn to soething for help......Yep, you got it! It's just the stuff around you, ballpens, testpapers even my fingernails. I think that might be a sign of my choicelessness. I want to do something while facing with the trouble which actually make me nothing to do but bite everything around me.

Hi there!
Yes, I used to have that habit too when I was still studying. My ballpen caps are all yucky because of it. Even my pencil's erasers they don't can't stand my biting hehe. But I don't know what happened. The habit just disappeared and I have totally forgotten about it.
They say habits are signs of boredom and lacking confidence. Like when we bite our nails or when our legs or feet swings or taps especially when we're waiting for time to pass by or sometimes when we feel nervous. These habits are just normal and the ballpen or nail bitting and leg/feet swinging is a just an instrument to take our minds off from thinking boredom or becoming nervous. But I suggest stop the habit. Like what you said, it's unhygienic.
Ciao!

I don't and I never will. In fact I don't put anything in my mouth while thinking. I don't find that hygienic. I don't fancy the idea of having germs pass on into my mouth, eurgh~~~
If I need to think, my pen and hands will remain firm on the worksheet, no way near my mouth. I just become idle.

Well, i'll admit that I am a hell of a penbitter. Usually this happens because i'm always very nervour in almost every place and what I do usually, when I have a pen in my hand, is bite it and there are sometimes that I don't even notice i'm bitting it. However, when I don't have a pen in my hand, I usually start to bite my hand nails.

Back when i was a kid I usually do that. But of course now that I am grown up it is so awkward that I will still do that. I know for some it is a habit and they do it unintentionally. But even so, I think it is not good to see a person doing such thing.

hi Janebeth oh yes I find myself everyonce in awhile'doing
just that. I am sure it looks awful but I stop for awhile'then
find myself doing it again. its not too great on one's teeth
and gets some odd looks if someone sees me. what my worst
habit was was chewing on my necklAce. until one day recently'when '
I saw these little blue spots all over my top;ink where did that'come from.I went upstairs to my room to rinse the stains out of my'vblouse and noticed Ihad ink stains around my mouth and checks.I had walked'past several people on my way upstairs butnobody had said a word. I scrubbed the stuff off my face and never did get the stains'from my top.the ink of all things had come from that
necklace I had been wearing and I had of course absentmindedly'chewed on the damned thing.,so I broke that habit.

if nobody else uses your ballpen or pencil, then maybe it's alright biting it. my advise is to wash that ballpen of yours properly with soap and water for another round of biting. germs and viruses are microscopic organisms, remember. for health's sake it is advised not to.
