Some researchers say that guava is in fact the most nutritious fruit. Guava are high in dietary fiber,Vitamins A and C,Vitamin B3 and G4 and polyunsaturated fatty acids especially the seeds. It has four times the amount of Vitamin C in orange, has good levels of dietary minerals, potassium, magnesium, and otherwise broad, low calorie profile of essential nutrients. Guavas contain both major classes of antioxidants pigments --- carotenoids and polyphenols. Guavas that are red.yellow or orange in color have more potential value as antioxidant sources than unpigmented species.

I knew guavas are highly nutritious fruits but did not have a clear idea of what exactly it contains. Thanks for your information, I have a guava tree in my house which yields plenty of fruits throughout the year and we consume a lot each day.

Hi Joniel
Hmmmm thats interseting you learn something new every day I had no idea the Guava was such a super fruit. I like them so maybe now I will eat more of them. Do you know of any more superfruits? I like just about all fruits except strawberries I am allergic to those and I don't like Mangos and I am sure there are a lot of other fruits that I like and dislike that I hae nevr tasted. By the way blueberries are really good for you too they have a lot of antioxidents in them cranberries are good for the kidneys those are just a couple of fruits that I know of that have great benifits to eating them.

I love guavas. We grew them in our back yard when we lived in Australia. Don't think they'll grow out here in the Southern California desert though. So sad! I don't see guavas in your average super market here either.

Years ago, I discovered it also has an enzyme that can help burn body fat. I don't know if it did me any good, as I never managed to eat enough of it to find out! I prefer pineapple, but any fruit is more beneficial than none.
Kiwi are another wonderfruit with loads of vit C.
