So, I am dead on my feet today because last night I was woken up at 3:30am by a loud thump above my head. I live in an apartment building and there are people living above me. Normally, I don't really hear much from them aside from some creaking in the ceiling when they walk around, and that's usually something I can tune out pretty easily. Last night though, I wake up to a loud thud from the other side of my ceiling and then hear loud arguing. My boyfriend was woken up too, and we laid there listening and wondering if we should do anything. The arguement seemed to be that the girlfriend in the apartment above us thought the boyfriend up there had done something wrong, probably with another girl, and he was angry with her for accusing him and then not believing him when she told her nothing had happened. The yelling got louder and eventually he was yelling at her to get out and get away from him and she was refusing. It sounded to my boyfriend and I like the guy might have been physically moving her toward the door to the apartment, and then there was another loud thumping noise and the girl was crying. That's about when my boyfriend decided to call the police, both because of the noise and because he was afraid that someone might have been hurt. What would you have done?

Absolutely, I would have called the police. You never know if it might make the difference between saving someone's life or not. If everyone is okay, maybe a knock on the door from the police might make them feel embarrassed enough to think about who might be hearing them the next time they have a disagreement. Especially when it comes to those uncomfortable glances around the mailboxes. xoxo Cyne

Definitely will call the police. They will keep your identity a secret anyway. Another thing is that the next morning, write a note and place it in their mail box, tell them their quarreling is disturbing to their neighbours.

It's a good idea to call the police. If we took the matters in our own hands, things might become worse and have no ending. It's better to let a right people handle it. Personally, I despise a man that beat a woman for any reason. Can they discuss and settle things without involving violence?
