From Book 1 to 7, all Harry Potter books were already made into movies (uhm, the first installation of the last book will be released next year)and since the first time it was released fans has been going gaga over it.
But which do you really like best? The book or the movie? and which book or movie is your most favorite?
Me? I prefer the books than the movies. Just love how it makes my imagination works. And my favorite books are the HP 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7---in that order.=)

Exactly right.
This just happens with any movie we see after we read the book.
I just saw angels and demons after the book.
And it was way too dissapointing to say the least.

well for me it was the 5th movie when i actually got intersted in harry potter book. and also that was so irritating to see that u know nothing abt THE BOY WHO LIVED. yaa!!!!!! THAT'S right the movie shows only feww incidents no details at all. ofcourse they can't. but after reading the first one i cldn't resist and within next 2 weeks all the parts were already over and the best one was HALF BLOOD PRINCE AND DEATHLY HALLOWS.

Definitely books. The movies took out some of my favorite parts such as Harry finally winning the Quittage Cup. I think as always the books give you more detail, and I'm a detail person.

IMHO, the books and the movie adaptations of the Harry Potter series are of different tiers and shouldn't be compared to each other. For one, the movie is just an adaptation, and if you're the type that expects *everything* in the book to be translated into "real-life" then you're really in for a disappointment. Each have their own merits in terms of their entertainment value; the books provide clarity and detail, the movies for thematic generalizations (i.e. focused only on 2 or three aspects of the original story.) Since I'm more of a book person, the novels rock my boat more than the movies.

I like the books more. When reading the books you can imagine what everything looks like but with the movie you are basically being told that this is what Hogwarts looks like and this is how names are pronounced. My favorite book was HP 3. The movie was also good for that one but the book was great.

Although the movies are very good, you simply cannot beat the books. there is so much more in them and letting your imagination create the characters etc for you is so much more rewarding.
My favourite of the films is the Prisoner of Azkaban, but my favourite book is the Goblet of Fire. I've yet to see the latest movie so can't comment on that yet, but The Half Blood Prince book was one of my least favourite in the series.
