My cat Jinx hates getting into his carrying cage to go to the vet .We have to hide the cage and carry him into a closed room just so he can't run out because if he sees the cage he runs for the border and as all you cat owners know they are fast as lightning especially when they're trying to escape from something or someone. Anyway he fought but we managed to get him in there. Of course he wines all the way there , but not a peep out of him on the ride home lol. He knows its all over so he relaxes .

Your discussion reminds me of the time we had with Dish Pan Sam (he got the name because he always slept in the dish pan). We had traveled to Florida with two dogs and two cats to take care of settling my Aunt's estate. We decided on the way back to California we would spend a few days at Disney World and Epcot. The rules at Disney parks is that the dogs and cats HAVE to be kenneled. The dogs weren't too bad, and my Siamese Merlin was fine, he hopped in the kennel and promptly started to eat. Sam was a different matter. I went to put him in the kennel and all four went out and grabbed the edges of the cage. I pushed (like in the cartoons) and all he did was spring back to his original position. I got him around the waist and pulled him back and cuddled him. Then I flipped him head down and tried again with the same results. I then turned him sideways so his head and tail were facing east and west...same results! It truly was like something out of a cartoon. I finally had to flip him on his back and gently grab his front and hind legs and put him in the cage on his back---and shut the door very quickly!!! I still laugh over that fracas!
Oh, as for the dogs, we had an Irish wolfhound/ royal standard poodle mix (he was 3 feet at the shoulder and weighed in at 125 pounds. He entered the kennel and got so upset and so nervous that he peed on the floor where he stood. The kennel man reassured my Mom that things like that happened a LOT and grabbed a tiny little hand towel to clean up a puddle that was the size of Lake Erie. When he saw the puddle, he was in total awe and grabbed the shop vac to clean it up.

Thats a good story and a funny one! The same thing happens when I try to put my Jinx into his cage all fours spread out and he grapped the cage and wouldn't budge . I tell you when they don't want to do something the claws come out and the battle begins! The only danger is we have to steer clear of those claws!! They can tear us to shreds I get Jinx's nails clipped every 2 months he won't let me get next to him to do it so I don't bother I send him to the groomers to get the works his ears nails, and he gets a bath too.

My cat May-ling absolutely hates her cage. She completely scratched up my arm once when I tried to put her in there. She also whines when she is in there and I just want to take her out so she won't. I think she does it on purpose because she knows I'm a big softy when she does.

Hi Cloudi
Ouch ! You gotta watch out for those claws they surely come out when your putting your cat in lol
Yes the whining tugs on my hearstrings too. I do find myself wanting to take him out but then I think of how hard it was to get him in there and immediatley come to my senses

Every cat we have ever had has put us thru the same fuss and bother. It can be bloody frustrating but I can sympathize knowing how I'd feel if someone forced me into a small space, jostled me about while taking me someplace I didn't want to go. In fact, when little, the dentist would cause much the same reaction..hmm..
ENJOY!

your cat jinx ever experienced a terrible things in the cage so he would immediately run away to hide he saw the cage try to he scare him often jinx cage over time he will not immediately run away when he saw you carrying the cage it usually works because Jinx cages will be used to seeing it and he will not be afraid anymore...
