What Should Obama, Pelosi and Reid Learn from the Health Care "Reform" Debate?

The Central Committee were obviously caught off guard by the opposition to their health care reform plans. They never planned on any kind of debate at all, so when debate happened, they weren't prepared. What really through them off though was the scope of opposition. They tried to simply dismiss us, but that didn't work. So what do you think they should learn from this? To me, the first thing they should learn is that they can't expect Congress or the people of the US to just roll over for them. If they want to affect change, they are going to have to take their case to us, and make their points. They learned that being in the majority doesn't mean total control.

That the MINORITY has a good organization, but they get a little crazy at times! It makes you wonder is it really about health care? That the minority believe anything Rush says! The lies make it easy to dupe people who are filled with hate, for losing! Obama said all along, when he won the MAJORITY vote it wasn't going to be easy! Just a few things that come to mind! tdemex

Parated: have you never read any of his posts on other discussion? Tdemex: I know you'll probably just accuse me of sounding like I'm interviewing for Rush again instead of actually answering the question, but I have to ask. How is it the MINORITY is so well organized that they can stop a filibuster proof majority, yet they were so unorganized less than a year ago and lost the seats in both houses? Isn't it a more logical conclusion that there is bi-partisan opposition to the health care reform bills?

I'm no statistician, but Last I checked 53% was a MAJORITY in this country. "The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey show that 43% of voters nationwide favor the plan working its way through Congress while 53% are opposed." http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/current_events/healthcare/august_2009/support_for_health_care_legislation_has_stopped_falling_but_most_still_opposed

I think they should learn that when you ask for bi-partisanship you just might get it. The only reason the health care reform hasn't passed is because there is bi-partisan opposition to it. I don't care how organized, or how big a bunch of bullies the minority are (as some like to claim). The fact is that Democrats hold a good majority in both the House and Congress. If they can't pass these bills, it's because there are also DEMOCRATS that are against the bill. Gotta love bi-partisanship =) I know that Claire McCaskill (Democrat from Missouri) has said several times that she will not vote for a bill that includes a single-payer system.

Bi-partisanship is a joke, after the good old days of my way or the hiwaymanship! LOL! (Bush)It's fun to give it out, but as it has been for the last 40 years it's tough to take it! Right? Yes we went through it and now the other shoe gets a chance! Sorry, take like a man and quit whining! As far as the senate goes if you call the Dems. a solid majority, you need to go back to school and re do your math class, those blue dogs get more cash from Blue Cross than all the right thinkers put together! Obama said it was gonna be a tough road ahead! Just sitting back watching this is a treat! Why don't we get health care like the rest of the top countries? No I guess keeping us in the dark ages is best for the good ole USA! tdemex

If there are both Republicans AND Democrats opposing the reform, how is that NOT bi-partisan opposition? If it was JUST the Republicans against the health care, then the bill would get passed. If it's not getting passed then obviously it's not ONLY the Republicans that are against it, yet you continue to blame the MINORITY Republicans. How is it whining to point out that there IS bi-partisan opposition to the health care reform? I think it sounds like whining to continue blaming everything on the Republicans when they can't stop a vote for it if they wanted to.

Democrats have 59% of the Senate and 59% of the House. How is that not a majority? Which school did you go to that 59% is not a majority?

They should learn to learn to listen to the American people and not try to bite the hand that feeds them!

What they ought to learn is that the American people will only be complacent up to a point. When they are pressed hard enough on enough sides, when they perceive real threats to their liberties, when they feel, and rightly so, that government is not listening to them and believes itself not to be of and by the people but above the people, they will rise up in protest. Sadly, I don't think they have learned any of this and will continue their strong-arm tactics. Luckily, those tactics will turn the people against them even more. Bullies never learn.

Learn that calling people ideological doesn't make them that! Some people are just average, believe it or not, and they like to be left the hell alone. Once you make them angry, they speak out. And much to the dismay of uber-libs, there are A LOT of them. Boxing them in and calling them racists, astroturf, fringe, and right-wing hasn't worked. Even still, that doesn't stop Obama nut suckers from insisting that's exactly what they are. It just keeps getting worse. It's like libs nor their supporters can just admit that maybe, just maybe, regular folks DO NOT WANT government's hand in everything. SHeesh! Talk about a religion! Obama worship is like those Heaven's Gate chadrools.
