ok this is fustrating me, some music they add their claim to it and you can still have your video just with ads on the sides no biggie.
but last night going through some of my old videos with my little cousin well not so little she is almost 16 now, one of my videos have been disabled due to copyright material and now i can correct the error by using one of the songs they allow you to use listed on their site but they have none of that artist i wanted.
grrr
are they taking this too far?

I so believe that they are !
because we're not posting the music and claiming to be the creator of the music, nor are we claiming to own the copyrights to it. Just like the video I did for JubJub, they disabled it cause of that very reason, and I just deleted it, cause thesongs they had available had no meaning or JubJub and I, but the song I chose did.And same as the song for the memorial video I did for Becca. You remember how pissed I was when they disbled that one.
I understand the whole copyright thing, but come on, if we put the name of the artist and that we do NOT claimi copyright on it, then youtube shouldn't mind.
Even one of the make-up gurus I follow on Youtube has had a video disabled, just because she had certain song playing in her room in the background, and it was rather loud, so youtube disabled her video because they believed that she had added it on the video since it was so loud. like wtf ? She had to fight with them to get her video re-enabled.
I think they should relax and focus more on people who break therules constantly rather than someone who uses a song to add to a "tribute" video, like come on
