So supposedly there are satanic messages in a number different songs if you play them backwards. One is Revolution 9 by The Beatles. This is the one i listened to and it actually really freaked me out. By no way am i saying that The Beatles were an evil band. They will always be one of my favorite and i loved how they stood for peace.
Another song is Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. This is one of the most evil of them all and litteraly gave me goose bumps. Its just creepy how you can hear the word satan in it. Its not like these bands tried to do this. Or did they. I guess we will never but they do say the things backwards. and its weird heck

zoey7879 is right, it's just Urban Legend. This has been debated and re-debated for years. There are no intentionally hidden messages, especially satanic messages since there is not Satan. I have been hearing about this for over forty years now.. I still can't believe in this day and age people buy into it. Here is some info on the subject.

There have been some messages, but not Satanic ones. Some have been put there just to mock Tipper Gore and her vendetta against rock music. I think that people just get freaked hearing the stuff played backwards, because it's all phonetical and sounds.. well...eerie. Ah yes.. reverted back the told days of when everything moderately unexplainable was "The Devil".
I wonder if those record execs have talked to The Waterboy's Mama lately? :P

LOL....
The stuff of urban legend... Half truth.. and.. equal lie at the same time. In the novel, "Painted Black", there are several chapters on this very topic. ... but only a few of them have been accused of putting Satanic messages specifically. Some things come out phoenetically sounding a particular way, others are intentional. Styx and Ozzy Osborne were some of the others accused of having done such... Although not Satanic, my personal favorite has to be the one from Led Zeppelin.. the Zoso album I believe. Give that one a whirl ;)

Are those ridiculous stories still going around? They're more than twenty years old by now. They weren't true when they got started, and they aren't true now. There's no such thing as satanic messsages except for gullible idiots who'll believe just about anything they're told. If there's anything at all that sounds like a satanic message, it's due to coincidence of the way things sound, and a lot of overactive imagination. The basic question is why would anybody bother to insert messages that are only audible if you play the song backwards. Nobody ever thought of playing songs backwards until some jerk thought up the whole idea. I'm sure whoever did it has had plenty of laughs over the years.

I've never heard any satanic messages in these songs, but maybe I need to clean the wax out of my ears. Seriously, with the exception of some uber hard-core Satanic bands, I don't think that anyone goes into songwriting mode with the intention of penning something that's in any way extolling Satan or sinning. A lot of what's heard, if heard at all, came about by accident.

It is hard enough to write and record decent music _forwards_.
Frankly, if I were Satans Little Helper I'd be using the twee looking popular acts rather than scarey rock music. I suspect that is the idea behind Pop Idol!

Yes, its true. When I've read an article about that, I was really shocked and I wanted to try if its really true. Yes, I know its true but then I don't have enough courage to listen because I know that I'll be hearing something that I don't wanna hear and I would not be able to sleep because it will always play in my mind from time to time. When I've also learned about that, I became conscious on what song to choose. I have a lot of favorite song and sometimes when I listen to my songs, I ask, "What's the message of this song? Is it satanic?" and because of having too many favorite songs, I don't want to check all of it by playing it backwards but I don't want to listen to satanic songs so sometimes, I prefer not to play my songs. HUHUHU!

you know I've always heard things about those songs but never tried it out. how would one go about playing a song backwards? does it have to be on wax in order to do it?
