I read an article today [ here is the link: http://www.walletpop.com/blog/2009/08/28/robo-calls-to-fade-into-history-thanks-to-new-regs/?icid=main%7chtmlws-main%7cdl3%7clink3%7chttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.walletpop.com%252Fblog%252F2009%252F08%252F28%252Frobo-calls-to-fade-into-history-thanks-to-new-regs ] regarding the new law to come into affect this next month whereby telemarketers cannot call us any more unless they have written permission from the consumer to call. Isn't that great! So I don't have that to worry about when I get my phone. I don't it! They will still be calling and we will probably have to track them down and get this so called written permission torn to shreds. Do you think there will still be calls or do you think it will be well regulated? What do you think?

I really think that is awesome. I don't have to really worry about a stupid robocall taking time out of my day just for me to listen to them. I am so happy for that and it's funny how they can get fined up up $16,000 per call after the fact of you telling them not to call.

They will just think of some way to get you to check a little box that you think is doing one thing, but it is letting someone use your personal information. I think they will always find ways around the laws.

Well, there is a law and starting next month they can't call unless they have you on a legitmate list giving them permission to call you!

Hey celtic! I will believe it when they stop calling! I don't
know how quickly that this is going to be regulated! I can
bet that next week I will still be getting those really annoying
calls anyway! How do you track them down? I can just see those
companies sending us notes to ask permission! I hope that it puts
them all out of business, but I highly doubt it!

I think those robocalls should be regulated.. I do not mind the change of times, that happens with life.. I just do not think its right to lose the human interactions to a robot.. Its bad enough now adays that we all have some type of technology that can interfere with human interactions person to person.. losing the personal touch.. and the younger generation may not even learn what that is... which is pretty scary if you ask me..
