I prefer sending text messages rather than calling because as we all know it's much cheaper to text than to call. Another thing is that I am not a person who loves to talk so I chose to just send text messages. On the contrary, text messages are sometimes disadvantageous because there's a big chance of being misunderstood since they cannot hear how you expresses the words being said on the message.

Hey,
To be honest, I usually prefer text-messaging mainly because I don't really like talking to people that often, and a text-message is nice and quick and doesn't really waste that much credit as well. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I am in my 60's and I have a best friend that likes to text message me, so we do text and talk to each other on the phone. It does look funny though to see 2 grsandmas texting, but hey, we both have unlimited texting so might as well take advantage of it. I do agree with the other user that respondeded though, that texting among teenagers, is the going thing, and I think they would rather do that than talk. I don't think they should be allowed to have their phohes in school as it takes away from them doing their work as they would be more interested in texting then learning. I am the only one in my house, so what the user said makes sense, as I wouldn't do that in my house either if there were kids here. It seems crazy to text instead of talking when they could be saying what they need to say when they are in the same house or room. I do both texting and calling, but more calling as my daughter would rather talk than text for now until she gets a texting phone, then we will probably text each other as we live in different states a long ways away from each other, and the cell phone is our sourc of communication. Take care, and happy mylotting.

when i text, i make it a point that my message is clear and easily understandable even if i use shortcuts.
i don't initiate a call without first texting the other party if it is ok to call or if he is free to answer me. i am wary that he might be inside a public conveyance, on the street or any place which may pose danger not only by receiving these calls but even by just with the ringing of the phone. this may alert the robbers and snatchers nearby.
