Who would decide what's offensive? I mean, I hate country music. You can ban that for all I care. I love alternative. You may hate alternative and want to ban that. It's all a matter of opinion, and if you (and I mean general you) don't like something, don't listen to it.

What's offensive is subjective, and therefore it cannot adequately be banned, since there has to be an objective law behind that censorship. What we find harmless now was once thought to be offensive; to some it still is. What's offensive to some people now will be found harmless to people in the future, if people get more intelligent (which remains to be seen). Censorship is more offensive; we should avoid it.

You can't do that..
Some people likes it and some people don't
It is personal choice...
How ever if a song or music is abusing some one you should ban it

no. what is offensive to one is not offensive to another. this is like banning classic books, which sadly many of them have been banned in schools and regular libraries across the nation. it's up to me to decide what i want to listen to and read, not the government.

i don't think we should ban it, but have hasher rating systems. like if the music contains adult content, you have to be an adult to purchase it. it would be tough to enforce, but if a child is listening to music like that a parent should know. i also think there should be a rating above MA for seriously offensive music. people should be warned about it and children should not listen to it. and obviously radios shouldn't play offensive music unless it was edited out.

I don't believe in censorship in any form. No matter how offensive I find something, censorship is dangerous.

Who gets to decide what is offensive? You or me. Are you going to ban the music I like or should I ban your favorit music because I don't like it. I really do find some so called music offensive but I really think banning it would not be a good idea.

LOL NO. How would one tell if it's offensive? Plus that would be against the First Amendment! I love most music anyway.. If I am "offended" I just turn off the song! LOL

Most definately NOT. Who should get to judge what is offensive to someone else? Example, i just had a question of mine get deleted on here even though in my opinion i see WAY worse questions on here. :(

banning offensive music is like Elton Johns saying we should ban all religions. If you don't like it don't listen to it.
