I'm trying to live healthier. Coming from a lifestyle of "socializing" and stressful work, it's difficult for me to find time to develop a healthier habit. Right now, I'm trying to replace my breakfast with a nutritional shake so that I'll be set for the day. And tomorrow will be my first badminton game with some friends., How about you? What are you doing to stay fit and healthy? Or lose pounds or gain muscles?

One thing that has helped me a lot is to eat smaller portions approximately every three or four hours - I have found by doing this I do not get hungry and start craving junk food. For me this is part of my work on controlling my diabetes and losing weight for that, but it may help someone else. Eating as naturally as possible is another thing. Through my diabetes I have really learned the effect different food has on your body, and I really do have more energy if I eat natural, whole foods. Before this I would eat 'diet' foods all the time, but I have found a small portion of a quality REAL food is much more satisfying and doesn't have the same negative digestive effects! Finally, finding an exercise you enjoy doing and getting into the habit of not questioning 'am I going to bother today?' - just get up and do it and your feelings will catch up, usually! For me it is swimming, and I could only do 5 laps when I started. I built it up in fives and can now do 40 fairly easily. I'm also thinking of trying Zumba, as a friend of mine teaches it....has anyone tried it?

to be frank, I am someone who really is not concerned about building my body in a perfect shape. This doesn't mean that I'm fat or something like that, it's just that I don't care much as long as I am fit. I am having my daily routine, which is not concentrated on my health & I'm living my life happily

I'm an ex-gym instructor, who used to bodybuild but now exercises for pleasure. My best advice is - exercise because you ENJOY it. If it's a chore it won't work for you. On holiday I spent 2 weeks clambering and scrambling over rocks to get to rock pools, caves, or just interesting places. I'm not good on heights, but if there was a sport called "horizontal climbing" I'd sign up. I used EVERY muscle in my body, and got so fit - far more than at the gym. I was camping, so activity was part of every day life for a while. I didn't need the weights room! Now, I spend more time in front of the telly than at the gym - so much so, I'm thinking of cancelling my gym membership. No, I'm not lazy. It's just that 3 amazing new channels have evolved: Fitness TV, Muscle Fitness and Body in Balance. The muscle program on at the moment has resparked my enthusiasm for the gym, so 'scuse me ...

I used to do taebo before. It's a combination of taekwondo and kickboxing. It's really an effective way to trim down in pounds and inches. It's also good for endurance, toning and firming.

I have learned much about being healthier over the years and have learned many good ideas with herbs, natural remedies, exercise, and diet. Because we are all so different, it is a path we walk to find out what is best for each of us individually. We have been checking out books on raw food recipes from the library lately. We have been trying to have raw foods that gives us live enzymes which leads to better digestion, healthier cells, and less downtime from being sick. I am amazed at how good I feel to have some fresh vegetables or fruits juiced and then consumed right away while the enzymes are still active. If there is no time to juice, a fruit or vegetable just eaten raw works well too. This is simple but as we add more and more raw foods to our diet, we feel much better. We are doing it slowly so that our bodies can adjust to the changes easier. This has been so much fun and cooking time in kitchen is a thing of the past.

You are what you eat. Is a shake really the best breakfast????? Too much sugar. Perhaps a nutritionist would put you on a better path. Lots of luck!!

It sounds like you are on the right track. It's usually better to just change one little thing at a time than to do this huge rearrange! After you adjust to these small changes, then change one more thing, like dropping off sodas or those high calorie coffees.... Add an evening walk and so forth! I began running a few months ago and other than a little soreness hre and there I feel so much better! I ran 6 miles this morning! Little by little you can do anything!

Hola! You are on the right track.. In your case, you are doing natural replacements on your food intake. and it is nice to know that your are engaging into physical activities! As for me, i was taught by my indian chatmate the basic of pranayam yoga! This i do apart from the usual cardio exercises. In fact, whenever i am about to do exercises, i even take L-carnitine to boost my zest in my physical activities.

I just stay away from too much sugar and high in carbo foods. I don't eat a lot except when the month visitor is approaching. Living life healthily is a product of your eating habits, regular exercise and daily doings. If you are a busy person, then you tend to burn calories more than the usual. It's all about lifestyle change if you are really want to stay fit. It's not just about dieting and starving yourself.
