Thankfully, the Present Chief Selector is not rigid like his Predecessor Dilip Vengsarkar. Krish Srikkanth believes in "horses for courses" policy which is the way to go.
All this talk of blooding youngsters, giving exposure, testing bench strength is okay, but not at the cost of the Indian Cricket's image.
There are lot of A tours where you can blood these youngsters., otherwise you will be left with a "egg on the face", just the way India had to face in the T20 World Cup when Rohit Sharma failed miserably against Rising Deliveries.
Dravid has proved his class. There is nothing to prove. Except that Class is permanent

i welcome this decision by the BCCI to select dravid for the champions trophy...as it is the starting of a season the pitches will be bouncy and pacy...the indian teams vulnerability to short bowling was exposed in the t20 world cup...so a player like dravid who is os good at shortpitched bowling is absolutely essential...he can fit in any role...if wickets fall early he can build an innings and also help the youngster on how to deal with short pitched bowling and battin under pressure...

I don't know whether I should praise this decision of BCCI or criticize it. Dravid is a veteran, and having one in the team definitely boosts confidence. Bottom line is that Dravid last played a one day back in 2007, almost 2 years ago. Pretty long span of time, that really is a thing BCCI should ponder on. There are many youngsters and I feel they should be given a chance. Dravid, the infamous Wall of India, is good only to exhaust the bowlers!! Not to pile up big scores!!
At the same time, the decision might bring good fate for Team India as Sehwag isn't there in the line up. Tendulkar opening with Gambhir, followed by Raina, Yuvraj, Dravid and Dhoni signifies a "strong" batting line up. Just hope they play well this time and retain their position in rankings. Cheers!
