The man who committed what I still call today, the funniest crime ever committed, Muntadhar al-Zeidi is soon to go free. The journalist made famous (or notorious) by lobbing a shoe at then president Bush, was to have served 3 years in prison for the charge of assaulting a visiting head of state. The original sentence was reduced to one year because Al-Zeidi had no prior criminal record. His sentence ends next month. You know, I still watch videos of this from time to time when I need a good laugh, it still works every time. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090829/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iraq_shoe_thrower and just cuz it's still funny..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM3Z_Kskl_U

Imagine if he would have actually hit Bush in the head with that shoe...it would have been much more funnier!

Not really. And I don't buy into your ideas about Dubya.

Bush wasn't a President, he was a bought man with interest in oil and weapons. Know our ex Prime Minister Jean Chretien, up here in Canada, was hit in the face by a cream pie in Montreal one day...that was funny too! I bet you would think that funny too!

If it had been Sadaam he AND his family would be buried in the desert somewhere. He sure is lucky that Americans don't take shoes as a big insult.

If he had thrown a shoe at Saddam he would have lost the hand that threw it!

You know, everytime I think of this it just reminds me of that line from Austin Powers: "Who throws a shoe? Honestly, you fight like a woman!" I'm just glad we had a president with catlike reflexes.

I think it would be funnier if it happened to Obama. I also think it would have hit him because that moron doesn't have the sense to duck!

Yeh, it was disrespectful, but come on, if Bush can laugh at it, I think the rest of us can too.

He should have hit him. It would be great fun. By the way I think one year imprisonment is a bit harsh. It's not a hand grenade he was throwing or something.

That could have happened yes. But I don't think it is necessary to use deadly force for just throwing a shoe.

I like #5's Austin Powers allusion. Anyways the clip of Bush almost getting hit is pretty funny. What I found interesting was how long it took for the Secret Service to react. I was surprised he was able to get the second shoe off and throw it too. Just think if either of those would have been a grenade or something of the sort. They ought to work on their reaction time..

lol, maybe they secretly wanted to see him get tagged by a shoe.
