Don’t say anything online that you wouldn’t want to read in print come tomorrow. One guy was bragging on MySpace that he was returning home to start his own business even giving the name of who he would be working for. As it turns out, he had disappeared years earlier owing a rather large amount in back taxes. When he pulled up to his new place of employment, the authorities were there waiting on him. He had to pay it all right then or go to jail!!!
Another guy was bragging about his vacation & letting his friends know where he was going & how long he’d be gone. When he returned home, his house had been cleaned out.
So be careful what you say in public even on myLot as Big Brother or little brother may be watching!!!! If you’re going out of town send me an email or PM & let me know. I promise I won’t rob your house while you’re gone!!! What you thinking???

Theres a lot of things I don't think you know. For-instance cell phones microphone can be activated while the cell is turned off. And the only way to truly deactivate it is by pulling the battery out of it. And also the GPS is always available when they want to track you, even when the cell is off. Read most of my blogs and you can learn more tricks that I researched.

I have heard of those things happening but they have never happened to me so far. My phone company has a thing online where I can go & see where a phone has been all day. At this point it has to be a phone I'm paying for myself in order for me to have permission to see it. It's supposedly set up so I can see if my child is lying about where they've been, but I'm just as sure some government group is using it to track certain people.
I have read about the microphone staying engaged, but I personally don't know anyone this has ever happened to.

We have to watch everything that we do online. In fact you may be shocked that some website's even show your real name on your profile page. With that and a city or state someone can find out where you live. As for the government watching, yes they do. In fact you may want to have a look at the new DTV converter boxes. There have been about 500 of them found so far with mini cam's inside. So watch what you are doing on the couch.

I don't tell just anyone things. Not unless I cold care less if the world knows. It is silly to post your personal information on line. But great computer criminal can take a picture and figure out the est of the details. So, yeah you really have to be careful what you share online or to everyone you know.

Marissa.. nothing is just safe anymore at all. I even have to watch out saying what I wanna eat, lest my friends or boss or what read what I have to say and when I eat something else, they'll say I'm being contradictory, in contrast to my previous blog post, or Tweet..whatever..
Along those lines you wrote, I understand the 'big' meanings there.
Bring the house down...........title of a movie..

People shouldn't be worrying about what you are eating!!! You have a right to change your mind.
In this case, Big Brother was referring to our Federal Government & little brother was in reference to our state governments.

Hi LadyM, thanks for the new but being honest it doesn't surprise me at all! Big Brother is watching our every move apart from when being at home in our 4 walls, but it would never surprise me if they start watching what you do there soon. I have always thought that too much info about yourself if given out online would be very detrimental to people, what you have said just goes to prove it is...LoLo

How totally right you are..It wold be bad to tell others where you live firstly..but then if they know you already and where you live that could be trouble as well..but then if they didn't show up at the site for a few weeks we would be worried and maybe someone would end up going and checking on them anyhow and then report back..then end up being robbed anyhow..Wow to be wiped out would totally suck. I guess that is one good reason why I don't get to go on vacation..

That is crazy. those types of people deserve to be caught or caught up in something like that. i would never spread the word about my home life or my plans for something like that online or to people that I do not trust. It is too risky.

There are some instances though LadyMarissa where just SOMETIMES the idea that big/little brother is watching is a good thing. Some months ago this teenager (Kenny Glenn) posted a YouTube video where he was abusing a cat (Dusty)---people who saw it were outraged but some savvy computer geek was able to track him down via his Facebook page. The cat was rescued and given time to overcome the trauma of being abused and now has a new home and the kid arrested. Then you have the sicko pedophiles on the internet who befriend kids posing as "kids" themselves that are caught--so not ALL big/little brother activity is bad especially if it can save lives

Something good ALWAYS comes out of something bad. I have seen numerous people here commenting that they are on disability & they proceed to brag about all the extra money they are making online. I understand they desperately need the additional money, but the current laws says it's not allowed. What if some diligent clerk started tracking such comments. Is the member a crook or bad person....NOOOO. Are they breaking the law??? Yes. Where do we draw the line on when it is a good thing & when it's bad??? I agree that jerks abusing any animal or child should be caught & prosecuted. Should a disabled person who is just trying to eat be punished??? NOOOOO!!! My concern is does the government know the difference between the two??? I doubt it!!! So, again I say, be careful what you say online or it might come back & bite you on the azz!!!

Actually people on SSI or SSI-D can legally earn extra money without benefits being affected--I know for instance a person on SSI-D can legally earn up to $500 a month extra

I am not sure which one that Raymond had way back then but it has been about 23 year's since he was caught. But back then you could not even make a single penny. Many folk's around that area lost check's one year due to an investigator going around and trying to get them to do work for him.

That doesn't surprise me a bit. Do you remember hearing about Obama wanting people to report those who are spreading "Misinformation" so that he could set them straight? Big Brother is, indeed, watching and soon he'll be everywhere if we don't get busy, wake up and demand our government back!

Fear has tricked a lot of people into giving up a lot of freedom. Parents fear losing a child so they take them & have them fingerprinted, get a DNA sample, etc. Then if the child is kidnapped, they have proof who their child is. What if....a few years later their child has not been kidnapped, but has turned to a life of crime. The very records that was put in place to protect their child will be helping them be convicted. We ALL like to think our child would never do such a thing, but more children turn to crime than are kidnapped. I just wonder how far we will go before we wake up & say this is WRONG!!! I'm afraid by then it might be too late!!!

hi ladymarissa that is really a good idea as it might
come back to bite you on the behind. especially in making our'discussins as mylot has some very strict rules as to how to talk about
one other. its not a good idea to make a discussion based on some
'irritation you have with another person here.mylot reads these
discussions and deletes them if they are pointing a finger at'one specific person.then if we have responded we all lose points.
In other words if we cannot play nice just leave the other person'alone. dont backmouth him at all.

Dear sweet Ms Hatley, please explain further. I have NOT badmouthed a particular member here in this discussion. I have NOT called the name of a myLot member in this discussion. It was started in order to say be careful as things are happening to people out of simple things said to our friends. I do not understand of what you speak!!! I have attacked no one & NEVER attempt to have any discussion deleted....even offensive ones. I'm sorry you feel offended & suggest you report the offensive comment rather than the entire discussion. I do wish you would tell me what you found offensive in this discussion so I can determine if I owe you an apology or not!!!

Liberty as we know is slowly disapearing. The elites are getting desperate and are grasping at straws. I could see a movement going on here and things just might be changing.

Yes, we are slowly giving our freedoms away!!! The young people just assume it will always be there for them so they are doing nothing to protect it. The elite are afraid they'll have to share!!! When will we ALL learn that we NEED each other???

There are day's when we have to wonder how far will the government take it. I know I personally have to wonder. They showed on the news the other night a group of people they had caught, and they had a myspace page up to recruit people into their group. They were arrested for terrorist's act's. So I am assuming the government does check out site's like this one.

I noticed your comment under my response about people on disability earning extra money and maybe bragging about it. It's perfectly legal for a person on SSI-D to earn up to $500 a month extra without benefits being touched or lessened--of course they DO have to report that income--I happen to have a friend here that earns quite a bit and withing the legal guidelines and yes she does report that income

Yes they did show it, that was about 1 month ago when they first started bringing them in. Just in case if you didn't notice the news also said they had their yahoo, and msn message's all recorded. So believe me they watch all the site's.

I know what it is like for people on disability I have an aunt and an uncle both on it. It is not easy for them at all to make end's meet so I enjoy seeing people that are making money online that are on disabilty. That mean's they can pay some extra bill's. But I do know year's ago they were strict, I do not know how they do it now. In fact, I have never asked my Aunt Edna if she has ever tried to make any money online. I do not think she would try it though, she is getting up there in year's.
