Do you like Summer, even if you're from a Tropical Country?

Well, that's my case, at least. India is a tropical country. And summers are harsh here, not mellow and beautiful like the temperate lands. If I may say so, 99% of the people here hate the summer months and don't actually look forward to them. But strangely, I like summer. Many people are astonished to hear that. I like the blazing heat, the fierce and strong sun and the dry streets. I never like wet surfaces. Perhaps that's why I hate the monsoon so much. The roads are reduced to puddles. So, I want to ask you whether anyone from you also have this odd choice or if it's only me. Cheers.

I live in a tropical country, the Philippines and it's almost summer the whole year round. I like summer because summer here is not as harsh as in other tropical countries. And there are also cool summer nights. And summer months are the time when we go on vacations and the beach. And there are summer storms too which are not so fun but a respite from the heat is a welcome. So it's summer for me.

How I would like to have lived in such a country!!! You bring up excellent points, sandymay16. The cool summer nights are a bliss, and I usually spend it on our rooftop, enjoying the pleasant breeze and watching the skies. The summer storms bring such gusts of cool air that it feels invigorating, exhilarating. In winter, we always have to shut ourselves into rooms, and try to insulate ourselves from the blistery cold winds. Any bad enough exposure to the winds and you'll catch a cold. So I always have to stay alert. Thanks for responding. Cheers.

I don't like summer. I felt tired and thirsty all the time. I do not feel energetic, so less productive. I like moderate temperature, and like you I also come from tropical country. Happy Mylotting

Yes, that's what I was speaking about. The things you said are true, as they are for all normal human beings, but just think about the refreshment and relief you find when you take that sip of cool water after feeling thirsty. It feels heavenly. And as for energy, that's true also. We do feel drained, but in winter, I feel as if my limbs have seized up and of course, I don't like to wake up in the chilly mornings. I feel that puts me out of productivity more efficiently. Thanks for responding. Cheers.
