I think that firewalls are really underused. People underestimate the importance of firewalls and only use anti-virus programs as means of security for the computers. Firewalls will block out illegal streams of traffic to one's computer. It will also a bit like a bouncer near a door. Preventing unauthorized people from coming in. I used Comodo firewall and it works really well.

I like firewall software too. I have used ZoneAlarm and like it. It's too bad when people rely on their modem firewall but don't ever change the admin password from the system default. A firewall doesn't do any good if everyone can figure out your password.

I completely understand the importance of firewalls. I use Windows firewall with eset nod 32 antivirus. Morever, my computer is connected to an intranet, which uses Fortiguard as a firewall.Fortiguar indeed is an effective firewall. It blocks all the illegal trafficking of one's computer.

PCtools freeware firewall for me. I been using this since windows 2000 so I am completely accustom to this. I have also configure it prompt me every time an incoming or outgoing request is made so that I'm in complete control.
I think firewall is not only underused but also misunderstood. Most user would rely on confronting malwares when its already within the system. They have completely forgotten about preventing them to enter in the first place. Firewall should be our first line of defense.

Hello,
I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, and that comes with a built in firewall. It seems to do the job, so I am quite happy with it. You should probably try it, you would be surprised. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I use my antivirus firewall like the Eset nod 32 and Avg. I also used the Windows firewall and everyday updates. I think firewall is important to protect computer from everyday threats in the computer and phishing attacks.

Hey,
I use comodo too! I love it. I have used a number of firewalls. I had AVG on this system and ESET Firewall on my notebook. But now I knocked off AVG and have installed Comodo instead. I think this is one of the best, if not the best firewall, I have ever used.

Hai,
I trust my Windows Firewall so I am not using any other third party firewall softwares. Firewall comes into picture when some body tries to intrude into our system. If it is having malicious contents, the antivirus which I am using is picking and the connection will be aborted to that particular link. So I am happy with that.

Reyas

I agree with you about the importance of having a good firewall plus an antivirus, because almost all antivirus lack of a good protection against unauthorized access to your computer. I am using zone alarm plus avg antivirus.
