Lord of the Rings hands down. The book and the movie are better than HP. I have always thought there are little similarities in both of them - a not so strong main character who is set against a powerful enemy; loyal friends of the main character; a wise old wizard. SOmetimes I beleieve the HP stories were influenced by the LOTR books, and why not they are truly amazing work. And as far as the movie goes, LOTR was far more intense than HP.

Lord of the Rings drew me in from the first pages of the Hobbit. It is a world of beauty, power, poetry, incredible images. It is my favorite escape. While there is a great deal of violence, the violence has a point, a purpose. It is not senseless, random violence for the sake of violence. It is the reality of the world at war against evil, domination and darkness. A war to save all beings from slavery. How can you not love that?

Harry Potter is much better because the sequel is much longer. The words they used were incredible to cast spells. The characters grow old and new characters emerge. The phoenix was magical. In Lord of the rings, the trees were awesome. It's more like auto playing war craft. War craft is a game of Elves, Humans, Druids and Ogres. Though it's genre is the same, which is fiction, both movies are great.

Hi Puneet097
For me its Lord Of The Rings! Great movie it had better actores Viggo Mortenson (I don't think I spelled his last name right) anyway he was really looking good in that movie so was Orlando Bloom the long hair looked really good on him. I also think the cinematography was better in the Lord Of The Rings as well as the musical score. I have forgotten what it won the Oscar for because I don't watch the Oscars not sure if it got best film or best director or both?
I am not a Harry Potter fan I watched the first one a little of the second but it just couldnt spark my interest long enough for me to sit through the whole movie.
