How many of you are still in contact with friends from your school days?

I still remember the last day in school when we cried and promised that we will never lose touch where ever we are etc. But somehow with marriage, new jobs, migration etc. I lost touch with all my friends. Apart from one or two weddings of my close friends, I couldnt attend the others because I too left the country and wasn't back for quite some time. Although letters were exchanged at the beginning, these too became less frequent as my friends also moved on. Then one day, I was back in my town and suddenly saw the death notice of the father of one of my good friends and decided to attend the funeral. This was about 20 years after leaving school. My friend was overwhelmed and there I met some of my other friends and with the advent of e-mail we, meaning most of my class mates are now back again in touch, being really good friends, even more so than before. I would like to know how many of you have kept up your friendships since your school days?

I still live in the town where i went to school so i see them some when i'm out which is not very much. I talk to a couple every once in awhile on the phone but not often. I glad u are hearing from yours. Old friends are good to be around. Seems like people just don't take time to visit much. Have a great sunday.

that true antiquelady. Unfortunately most people don't have the time to visit at home these days, so most of the time you have to meet for coffe or lunch, but as long as you're in touch thats the main thing. Have a good day.

I've moved several times since I left school, but my best friend from school is still my best friend, over 40 years later. Through her, I occasionally meet up with about 3 or 4 other schoolfriends. My friend and I make sure we meet up at least 3 or 4 times a year, and have at least one holiday together. Pretty good going, as we live in different countries now! If you really want to keep in touch, it can be done.

Good for you Sandra. Like you said, if you really want to keep in touch you can. Especially now with e-mail and all that its just a case of sending at least a short note once in a way. It is actually a wonderful thing meeting with school friends cos we have so much to talk about

Not really I hardly ever get to see any of my friends from school since a lot of them moved away. I only get to see one that goes back since preschool which is my best friend and I see on a daily basis dont get to see anyone else which sucks since I would like to see them again.

Hard luck arcidy. Can't you put out a message on "Find Friends" or something like that asking all your friends to contact you? that'll be kind of cool or would it be? Just a thought only. But you have at least your best friend and that's what matters most. Hope you'll meet some of the others too soon. thanks for responding

Thanks to Facebook, I'm still in touch with all my old friends all the way back to junior school. People I haven't heard from in a good 13-14 years have found me on facebook and we now all stay in touch.

You can't expect to be in touch with all your school friends I guess. In the case of some, no one knows where they are or what they're doing. But as long as you have your best friends you're ok. Thanks for the response homeshoppers and have a great day.
