smile and serve

Sadly, people nowadays tend to forget the value of helping others. I saw a TV show once where a blind man was asking assistance to get to a certain location. The bystanders talked to him and just let him face the correct direction but let him go alone. It was only a short distance away but a lot of things could happen. Maybe they were busy or maybe they were late for an appointment or something, but helping that blind man wouldn't have taken much time. I hope that parents will teach their kids about helping others...it may be the only difference between time in heaven or eternity in hell. Cheers!

Yesterday a solider was walking in a store when I had grandma and we were also entering. He stopped, opened the door and assisted us to enter the store. No cost, just a few seconds of time. And thanks from grandma to the soldier for serving our country and thanks from me to the soldier for his kindness to hold the door open. We need more of this.
