I am new and learning to drive a stick shift. I got an eagal talon. I like it it's a nice little car. I drive ok but not perfect like I would like. I know I am going to need alot of practice. Everytime I go and drive it I get really nervous. There's just so much to remember to do. The rolling back when you are shifting scares me. I am afraid I am going to get tickets in the talon because I can't drive it very well. I know I have to learn it someday though. It's alot of stress. I am even woundering if I should have bought it because I am so used to driving an automatic. I have drove it but I think I need to drive it once a day to get the hang of it. I have been using my other car which is an automatic to work and I have no problems with it. I keep on jerking it around and killing it in the stick shift. I am having trouble with my shift points. It's very fustrating. It also is tiring after awhile. Shifting all the time. I hope I get it soon.

My first car was a stick shift. I got so dang frustrated with it. I did not give up on learning how to drive it though. It took me a while too but I was determined to not let it beat me. I knew it could not be that hard if alot of other people were driving one.

Hang in there!! It takes time to get used to them. When I was learning to drive one I would wait until 2am or 3am and go out and practice pulling out on hills when there was no one around. I live in a very rural area though so it was easy to do. Deserted parking lots are also a great place to practice pulling out and shifting. Just have patience and don't give up. You'll get the hang of it soon. Good luck!!
