what about the sony or canon camera?

I suggest to opt for cannon when compared with sony. It has a good image quality i have personally noticed it. The experience that i have with this camera is that whenever we zoom more, till the possible extent the image quality does not go blurred it will be sharp and correct and never degrades with its quality. Sony also is good but when i had an experience with cannon i am gone crazy for the cannon camera. Will surely purchase it in coming days.

What kind of camera are you considering? Is it digital compact camera or DSLR? If it's a digital compact, sony will be a good choice as the picture quality is sharp and clear. But if for DSLR, canon will obviously be a better one as they really produce great DSLR with great lenses.

You can't say it like that.. like "which brand is better". As the person above mentioned, the budget and class of the cam required is very important. Whether you are looking for a professional/semi professional cam. I'm inexperienced in terms of buying a professional cam.. but I can clearly say that Canon has the advantage over Sony for a home use cam. If you are not intending to go after professional photography go for Canon, its worth the money we spend.. morover they hav a wide range to select from including ultra slim light weight models.
