Does it matter to you HOW you die or are you more concerned with dying itself?

We're all going to die... someday, some of us probably sooner than we might expect. Have you ever given thought to HOW you might die, and does it bother you? I know that I definitely would PREFER not to die in some horrific situation, an auto accident that doesn't kill me instantly, a fire, being blown into pieces by something etc. I would PREFER to just go in my sleep or something, when I'm super old and it's almost more of a relief because my body is falling apart and my mind is going lol.
What about you? Do you care how it happens? Is is more bothersome and morbid simply thinking about the end of life as we know it?

As long as it is quick and painless and doesn't happen until I am very old, I don't really care anymore. Of course the best way to go is quietly, in your sleep, from natural causes.

Old age is acceptable to me... I don't want it to be due to some CURABLE health problem - gotten to the point where it is no longer able to be taken care of because health care won't take care of you - they think you're terminal and that means there's no point keeping you alive.
So... I really really can't afford to get sick!

I don't think anyone can afford to get sick. Even people with money to pay for health care lose more than just money from dealing with illness.

Hi mommyboo, I really don't spent a lot of time thinking about it but I don't think that anyone would like to suffer a lot or die in an accident. Of course, we have no say in the matter anyway. I will be 70 in October and have two brothers and a sister who are older than me. My sister who is 86 has been in hospital a lot this Summer and that has me thinking more about such things. Quality of life is as important as quantity and I certainly wouldn't want to be in pain and having to stay in bed. I don't think that getting old is much fun but as long as I'm healthy there will be something for me to do here. I also feel that there will be a job waiting for me when I move on to the next dimension. Blessings.

I hope that I can stay independent and in control of my faculties for a long time even after I'm older, because I don't want to be in bad health or unable to do things I have done my whole life. I just can't imagine... it would make me angry and anger can fuel a lot of things.

However it ends up happening, I doubt I'll be happy about it, since it IS an unknown. I know I cannot prevent it or stop it but I sure wish I could prepare. If even just one person could come back and tell everybody what it's like on the other side and how to deal with it, it'd be a lot less scary.
Or maybe more scary. depending on what they had to say!

My real thought about dying is that I hope I have everything in order and that I die in my sleep. I wouldn't want to die in some horrific situation either. Just let me die in my bed sleeping.

I am not concerned at all about dying. In fact I just hope that when I do die that I will do it in my sleep. I believe that would be better then feeling alot of pain, and maybe being tortured, or really seeing it coming.

I find this topic quite interesting. I haven't responded to any topic like this before in any of the forums. I would prefer going in sleep but then its something which doesn't happen to all. End could be gruesome or very simple but if we have lived the life the way we wanted to, then I think we can leave the rest to destiny.

Well, like you, I'd like for it to be peacefully in my sleep. I just don't want to die in horrible pain or linger in pain for years. I think if I had a condition where I was constantly in pain I'd rather just end it and be done with it then drag on and on.

I am more concern with the way I die rather than dying..I do not like to bid goobye to this world in a bizarre accident that it destroy my whole body or in any freak accident or in cases I get totally missing with no even a traces..That would be very sad and cruel ending for me and not in the cases of dying, at least i got a chance to see and bid goodbyes to my loved ones before I expire. I think it is much better and humane that way to end a life..

I would rather die quickly and not die in some painful drawn out way.
I'm not worried about dying just how I will die.
