I was just watching this show on PBS about Black holes. I guess I never really thought about black holes before in depth, but after seeing this show I realize just how scary they really are. If you were every sucked into a black hole you'd be dead so fast you'd probably never even realize what happened to you.
Have you ever really thought about Black Holes?
Do you think a black hole would ever suck up our planet?
It's a scary thought! But my guess is - it would never happen in our lifetime. Guess you never know though.
If you want to read up more on what exactly a black hole is, check out this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole .
And here is another site that might help you understand better. This is the actual website from the show. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/blackhole/explained.html

Some time ago I read a report compiled by a group of astronomers. They claimed to have detected a black hole moving towards the solar system. Either that, or the black hole is sucking in the stars, and earth gets dragged along due to an overall gravitational pull. On the other hand they may have made some observation and computation error.
There is a belief among certain religious people that a black hole is actually hell. OF course this has not been proven, but it could be true.
I am keeping an open mind over this issue. I feel it is better for me to carry on life as usual.

Thinking about black holes and the possiblity that we might be affected by it is kinda scary. But at this moment, it seems impossible though. We have great scientists in this world who are monitoring every event in the solar system and even outside of it. But who knows? No one can know what exactly will happen next. We just have to make the most of our time now and do all the good things that we can do to others. So if we die, we won't have any regrets.

We need to send a probe into a black hole, it'll take a long time, and it might fail. But what if it doesn't?
