Hi, laptops are very convenient for us and it can be carried to anywhere. But now there are netbooks in the market. It is very small and all of them are at around 1kg. There are cheap too. But the problem is it do not have dvd drive and a good processor. Will you get a netbook or laptop?

It depends..
Both are portable, a difference of few pounds does not concern me. and laptop is more complete than netbook, it has CD/DVD drive, you need to bring external DVD drive for netbook in case you might need and it is hassle to carry so many accessories.
CPU power, laptop has the great advantage than netbook, no need to compare this.
But, when it comes to battery life, netbook is better, specially if you go to places where AC power is difficult to find.
But in general, i would prefer laptop, 13 inch would be enough, like mac book.

I will prefer to have a laptop. Although the netbook seems to be much more portable, but it can't meet my needs. It will run the software like Photoshop slowly. If I run several software at the same time, it will be very slow and I am too impatient to it. So I won't consider to buy a netbook. Especially its battery won't last longer than a laptop.
I love China

Hi, nice to meet you. You must be from China. Happy To meet you here, i am from Malaysia. Ya from what you mentioned netbook is still not powerful enough for us to run some heavy software. So i will still choose notebook as my first choice. Happy Mylotting!!!!

Hello ichiat!
If I would have a chance to buy netbook or laptop, I would still choose to buy a laptop. as you said, netbook don't have dvd drives or a good processor, then it would just create more problem. I won't maximize its usage. So I might as well buy a more expensive laptop, and use it to the fullest, and everything I need would be there. than buying a cheaper one, and yet from time to time I still need to shell out some money, if I want to do more.

Yes, a lot of notebook computers, in order to light, stylish, they are constantly comptessed size and weight, but this will result in the loss part of the function, such as DVD drive no longer exists. This makes us want to look at some CD-ROM data, helpless.
So, I think, we choose to buy notebooks, we must be thoughtful, I now use laptop computers, relatively heavy, relatively large, but the function of all of them, and use very well.

I own a netbook, and with the invention of thumb drives, there is hardly an need for a dvd drive. I took my netbook to europe, and used it extensively. The only thing that doesn't work with a netbook is gaming, but when you are on the go, you don't need to play Fallout 3. My netbook was $250 and well worth the money.
