breastfeeding in public places

We see mothers breastfeeding their infants in public places here. They breastfeed their babies whenever or wherever the need arises. We see them breastfeed babies in public utility vehicles (jeepneys, we call them or in buses), parks, along the sidewalks, stores, etc. An exposed breast from a feeding mother and from someone who is not creates different impressions, mostly looking down on those doing it for vanity or to just seek public attention. I know countries differ in their practices and culture. Breastfeeding in public may be "normal" to us... how about in your place? What are your views into this? I would be happy to be learn of your views... Thanks.
