Do you believe in any form of ESP?

Let me tell you about something that happened to me recently... I had this dream. In it, I was in a dense forest. I remember there was snow falling but it was actually warm, and the trees were green. I think this happened last night. When I woke up, I found out that a bunch of family were coming to gather at this park near us for a family reunion. We arrived there and my dad got one of the grills going, and he ended up using newspaper to try to get the fire going. Then, little chunks of newspaper started floating around in the air like snow. It appeared almost exactly like I remembered it in my dream. The picnic itself was actually pretty fun! We had hot dogs and burgers and other food. I also got to look after my niece and 2 nephews, and one of them talked me into getting on the swings. So after plenty of hours conversing with family that I might not see again for a while (One of them lives in California), we made a couple of stops. First, I wanted to go visit the church where I was baptized. Unfortunately, they keep the place shut after a certain time... After that, my dad wanted to get in the casino and put 20 points on his membership card, and I ended up getting 30ยข because of my good luck. They gave us 2 water wizards (Some gardening tool... Don't ask.) and after that I headed home. So, for the moment all was looking well, but then I came home to a grim message... Someone put a virus in one of the forums I was a member of. They attacked us because we were opposed to the malicious activities they were performing on another site. So, in conclusion, I don't know why I had that dream... I can't figure out what it was trying to tell me or if there even was a meaning. My question is, do you believe it was a coincidence that I dreamt of the snow, or could I have dreamt of something that was about to happen in the not-so-distant future, like the newspaper flying around in the air? Do you believe it's possible for people to be clairvoyant, or have any other form of ESP?

It's a well-known fact that most part of our brain is not used or the scientists don't know yet what happens there. I think some people have found a way of using some of that brain by what we call ESP. It happened to me more than once to think of something before it actually happened, and not predictable things... I think there's some truth in the ESP theories and reports.

Yeah, that's true. It's a possibility. I've heard another theory, too, that a certain part of the brain is where the soul of a person is supposed to be contained. I'm not sure what to say to that one, though...

That reminds me of something that my English teacher told me... He said that he thinks when people see a "lucid dream" of someone they know, it means something bad is going to happen to them.

Yes, I do. In fact I've had it from time to time. I know things that no other person could possibly know. I also have had people tell me things that I've never said out loud to a human being in my life. There's got to be something going on.

Oh yes it is possible. But, normally dreams are made up of things you went through. Things that have made a big impression on you. A movie that you are subconsciously still thinking about. Dreams help you to relate to situations. They help you get over hard times as well. Mostly they are just a reflection of something in your subconscious. Nothing to worry about. There are other dreams, those are the so called ESP dreams. You recognize these, because they make you wake up different. The dream itself is different. You can also get warned by your subconscious. But, when you get these kinds of dreams, you will know. There is no doubt. They are totally different. The meaning to the dream you don't need to ask others either. Because you will know when the time is right. Of course we people tend to be impatient and will ask others the meaning. Sometimes it helps, but always keep a clear view. Because only you can know the true meaning. Hope this helps.

You know, now that you mention old movies, it very well could have been a scene on Anthony Bordain's show "No Reservations", where they describe how fir trees were planted all over Russia, so all throughout the year, it appears to be snowing.

Yeah, that makes sense, you could be just thinking about the book unconsciously. What was the book called?

Not ESP actually, but some research say that we, people, already know what will happen to us in the future, but how far we know it depends on our brain. Let me give you example, why did you know a spoon that throw out from a room in 6th floor will falling down? Gravity? are you sure? It all happened because we know what will happen to us in the future. Normal people sees up to 5 seconds what will happen to hm, while the gifted one able to see it 5 days farther. This is because we know the law of Causal, what happened to us is the result of what we have done, just like Karma Sometime this knowledge about future come to us insensible. Knowing what grade that we will get in the mid-test? Knowing what would we eat at the dinner? i bet some of you have experienced it And this knowledge sometimes come within a dream. I want to ask you something, how many times in your life that you seen a weird dream? even weirder than this one? I bet you have seen a lot of them, but why would you post this one? Is it one of the knowledge? who knows?:)

I can see what you're getting at. Causality does, indeed, give us the ability to forsee things in the future. However, how do you explain seeing something in a dream that you have never seen before in real life? I think it could be a coincidence, but maybe, just maybe, there's a chance that we have the ability to see things within the future that aren't immediately known to us, to our knowledge. Also, to answer your question, I did have this weird deja vu moment where I thought I recognized this woman who was wearing this hat with all sorts of colored jewels in it, but I knew I had never seen this woman before. Did I see the hat before, and just not pay any attention to it? Or did I see it in a dream before I even saw it? If the latter is the case, then I doubt causality has anything to do with it.

sometimes these things happen although the reasons aren't usually clear. Yes, I believe that ESP exists not only in some people but that all of us have the potential given the right conditions. cheers!

I agree with you. I've heard that psychic powers have to do with the mind, so I think since we all have a brain, we all have the potential to develop psychic powers. It may have something to do with working your brain out.

hi I think its possible to dream of something that is going to'happen as i have heard others talk about having dreams come true.'Lots of people are clairvoyant and some also have some form of esp. I know'[that my husband and I by staring long at a couple sitting on'a bench not too far from us and thinking that man looks angry and any time now he is going to shout at the woman. We thought it might be'his wife.sure enough he threw down his crumpled napkin and screamed something at the woman.my husband said she is going to hit him. I just looked at him but he was so often right. the woman seemed a bit older'and was small boned next to the man who was sort of pudgy. The man yelled again at her and sure enough he just stood there and she picked up her rather large purse. Whap right across the kisser and the edge of it must have hit his lip and drawn blood.now we had never ever seen this couple before. So to my surprise when i got to the writing class I took the next day at the junior college, our teacher said he had a guest speaker. This older woman we had seen the day before was a rather well known writer and gave us a speech on novelwriting. I often wondered what the connection between this learned older small boned lady and the pudgy angry younger man. wow.

Interesting story. I could think of a few possible ways to explain it. One of them is clairvoyance. As you had said, you and your husband were able to tell what was about to happen between the 2 of them before it happened. My second explanation is telepathy, that is, you two read their minds and as a result were able to predict what was going to happen. However, as interested as I am in psychic powers and possible psychic phenomenon, I'm reluctant to accept the former 2 explanations. My third and final explanation is that perhaps you two were unconsciously reading something in their body language, and, through intuition, managed to predict what was going to happen. That's the explanation I find to be most comfortable at the moment.

I believe that one can be clairvoyant, however, I don't really believe in absurd things as people claiming to be able to tell someone their whole life and whatnot or claiming that if their instructions aren't followed to the letter someone else will die or something. I too had the occasional dream that felt somewhat of a warning of something to come, but of course, I only paid so much mind to it. In the end, things didn't matched 100%, but they were close enough. Now, why did this exactly happen, I have no idea. One could attribute this to the fact that it's merely the brain sorting out memories and grabbing on the facts that we know and extrapolating possible outcomes of certain situations... but it seems rather odd that the one possibility that I remember from my dream was exactly (or almost) what came to happen in real life.

You might be right. I am a strong believer in free will, and I believe that there is no predetermined future. Life is made up of so many choices, and you only get to choose 1 of them. Even so, your choices are often limited, and of all those, some are even less likely because they are bad choices, so to some extent, we kind of follow a set of decisions that determine where we end up tomorrow.
