do sherlock holmes the detective written by sir aurthor conandoyle really existed?
in his stories the house address of sherlock holmes in london was always mentioned.

Sherlock Holmes himself didn't exist. He was fictional. But, he was based on a real person. A doctor, named Joseph Bell. There is a Baker St, where Sherlock Holmes lived, but when the stories were written the actual address, 221B, wasn't a real one. It exists now and it's where the Sherlock Holmes museum is.
