Have you ever been involved or seen an accident before your eyes?

Not a very healthy topic to be discussing about, but then, soe inputs from this discusiion could perhaps help others who may or may not come across such situations in their life. I haven't seen one before my eyes, but yes I did see one seconds after it happened. I was driving when a tourist car overtook me at a great speed. Icursed the guy for driving so recklessly. A few minutes later, he had crashed into an oncoming bus and was struggling for his life. I couldn'thelp him as there was already a lot of people crowding him, but from what I saw, I don't think he would have made it. Sometimes, its better to be late than never. What do you think?

I've sen a lot of them, from minor to horrify accidents that you can't imagine that it happened. You'll see so mangled vehicles that sometimes you did not expect someone to survive but then the victim just have a minor injuries and there are times too that you thought it was just a minor incident yet there is a casualty involve. I've seen different kinds of them since I worked in EMS for more than 10 years now so it is not an ordinary thing to me already yet there is no single and the same situation each time. That's the beauty of it, you won't expect anything to happen the same of what had happened the other day or yesterday. You won't stop earning from every incident that happened, it's along learning to learn.

hi sirrob just w anted to add something. so many times emts'dont get much thanks for all they do. I want to say that two young emts convinced me,a senior citizen a woman, that my fall had probably'
injured me worse than I thought. I had a bad fall and landed on myleft shoulder. I cou ldnt lift my left arm and I thought I had just dislocated it and wou ld walk over to my doctors office.now I was shaking and in shock and really not able to walk anywheree butthey immediately said lets take you to the hospital emergency and get you checked out as we dont want to leave you wandering around with a possible broken shoulder. so of course I went to the emergency and yes it was a very bad break, the bones crumbled and I ended up a bioonic woman with a metal and plastic shoulder joint. I had those two emts to thank for forcing me to get the proper care.

I witnessed a horrible car accident right in front of my eyes about 2 years ago. One of the drivers was drunk. One person unfortunatly passed away, some others were taken from the scene in an ambulence. I really cannot believe how selfish drunk drivers are. They put other people in danger. If they want to act stupid they should put them self in danger and not expose other people to that danger.

I agree that it's better to be late than never. I have never been in a car accident in my life, thank goodness. I have never actually seen one happen either, but like you I saw one a little bit after it happened. I was at a chuck e. cheese when I was smaller, and I was waiting for my aunt while staying with my other aunt in a car. Then when we back out of the parking lot, we see an SUV flipped over on its top. Which obviosly wan't there before. It came as a big suprise when we turned around because none of us had heard a thing like crashing or screeching breaks. I'm just glad we didn't back out sooner because that care might have crashed on us.

I have been in two that I can remember. One in which I was driving. Both were quite scarey, and thankfully, no one was hurt.
As far as seeing one, no, I have not witnessed any. I have seen the aftermath of some pretty bad ones, but never saw them happen.

Thank god that you've been involved in two and have come out unscathed. Have you analyzed why it happened to you? If so, are you taking the right precautions now? I think you should if you haven't. Its better to drive safe than try anything fancy. Thanks for the post.

I seen accidents at the race track. Some of them have been quite bad accidents and the drivers had to be rushed to the hospital. I never seen an accident like your talking about and I hope to never see one. My brother seen one and had a fear of driving afterwards. I have been in three car accidents but nothing serious. Two of them involved high-speed and lack of attention on my part. I don't drive very much now, lol.

Hi suchi, I was in an accident. I was riding the motorcycle with my father. He was the driver and I was the pillion. We were at a traffic light intersection. We were on the main road and the light was still green. While we were in the middle of the intersection, a car came from the opposite side and didn't stop but just went on to hit us. I saw the car coming towards us like in slow motion. My father wasn't seriously injured. The world was like turning round and round and then I found myself lying in the middle of the road. I couldn't move and I can hear cars and trucks moving past me. It was frightening because I thought I was going to be hit again.
Fortunately, at that moment, an ambulance happened to pass by and they stopped and the medical staff treated me. I couldn't move and my wrist hurt like mad. It turned out that I broke my wrist. I had three stitches on my lower lips and bruises and lacerations on my arms and legs.
That was an experience that took me some time to forget. It still gives me nightmares but I try not to think too much of it. I've never been on a motorcycle again after that.

What's mind-boggling is that when you're involved in an accident, things seem to move in slow motion. You talked about you and your father being thrown out of the bike and landing in the middle of the road and crs and other vehicles moving past you. what you did forget to notice is that there must have been someone who would have called the ambulance which came to your rescue. Did they catch the car which hit and ran? I know how it can be; you must have had nigtmares for sometime. Stay safe. Thanks for the post, uminoor.

hi suchi60 yes I really did.I was standing in line in my bank
waiting my turn to draw out some money.I heard someone gasp'and turned to look out the glass door.Isaw a large van swerve to aviod
hitting a smaller car and it just tipped right over onto its'top;. the other car ran into it. Iturned arou nd and asked the teller who was tappin her fingers to call 911 as there was a two car accident at'the main road leading into the mall. she did and the emts were there in a few minutes followed by a police car too. nobody was badly injured, most had cuts and one person had a broken ankle.nothing really bad thank goodness for that.and I and my nurse friend came up on a turned over gas tanker.the driver was unconscious and had been thrown onto the graveled edge of the pavement.we had one of the few car phones at the time and my nurse friend called the paramedics and told them just where he was .we waited until they came with their ambulance. then we went to work at Bennett Memorial hospital. I was a nurses aide, my friend a nurse. so I was sent in to pick gravel out of a mans arm and lo and behold it was our man from the gasoline tanker. he was still inconscious so I knew i wasnt hurting him too badly.he did survive and came out of a short coma.

I have seen an automobile crash or two, and thankfully, the people weren't hurt. I've often wondered what I would do-I know I stop my car, and try to help if I could. My uncle, who worked for the highway department for years, had to help once with a small plane crash that happened nearby, and it was horrendous, he told my Mom he hoped he never saw anything like that again, the people did not live.

I have been involved in a couple of accidents. The first accident happened many years ago. My mother, my brother and I where driving in our car, and suddenly another car crashed into our car. We were lucky, the car was damaged, but nothing happened to my family and me.
The second accident happened when I was driving my bike. It was raining and I was driving too fast. When I wanted to turn left, I fell off my bike, and I hurt my head and got a concussion. The worst part was that I lost my memory, and I didn't know what to do or where to go, because I had forgotten where I lived and I didn't recognize the streets at all.
The third accident also happened while I was driving my bike. Part of the street was blocked, and when I discovered a bus behind me I wanted to drive to the sidewalk so that the bus could pass. I was in a hurry, and I hit the curb and fell down on the street in front of the bus. I still don't understand how I mananged to get away before the bus hit me, but I am really grateful that I didn't get seriouly injured.

I don't, but I see after the incident. What I saw was a bus rooftop totally separated from the bus and it wasn't a good sight. It also the first time I drove alone at a highway and as soon as I saw that I reduce my speed and drive more safely. My brother also has involved in the accident, and lucky for us, no terrible injury happen.

When I was like 10 y.o. I saw a little boy falling off the window. He lived on the 4th or 5th floor I think. I don't remember if I approached him after falling or not, but there were lot of people running to the place of accident. Some months later I saw that boy being carried by his father. He was okay, but it seemed to me that his legs were damaged hardly, because he couldn't move on his own, that's why father had to carry him on his back.

Roads & accidents always go hand in hand. Since I use a motor bike & I really have this habit of racing & also most of the time I'll be late for work or for any other thing, I always go at a top speed. Ya couple of times I had some accidents myself that too because of the fault of the other driver. Well I believe in faith & destiny so thinks that what ever is suppose to happen will happen. Rather than thinking of 1000 things, think positive that nothing is going to happen & have a happy life. If you have the skills to drive a vehicle, then no need to worry, You will reach safe somewhere. After all we all have to die one day & no one likes the Idea of die'n so let what is supposed to happen may happen.

I have almost been involve in an accident before. I was crossing the street and suddenly a cab almost ran over me, I was very lucky because the driver of the cab was very agile and luckily he was able to evade me. I saw many times accidents and I usually don't like to see the left over of an accident. I think I'm going to faint if I see another accident again.

I have not seen any major accidents. I guess I can consider myself lucky not to be involved in one either. I would not want to watch or be a witness to any major accident.
