Some critically acclaimed films from other parts of the world are good to watch. The stories are so complex that will capture your mind. I like the one from Australia (i forgot the title), it's all about a family and how they conquer their journey and circumstances of each character. Y Tu Mama Tambien from Mexico is a good one.

Actually yes, but if you are from other countries, you might consider Hollywood films as foreign movies, that's ok. I like The Eye too. That Crouching Tiger hidden Dragon is powerful one.

I really liked "Diving Bell and the Butterfly". It is a French film and is about a man with "locked-in" syndrome. It is fascinating to see life from that perspective and the obstacles facing this man. I highly recommend it if anyone hasn't seen it.

At the current moment, I really do not have a favorite forign film. This could be because I am barley exposed to them, nor do I have the time to watch them. Because of this topic, I am going to rent a couple and then I will repost here! Thanks for giving the idea!

I'm from the philippines and I just watched Shinobi: Heart Under Blade.. It's a romantic action movie set in the time of the Tokugawa era where two tribes: Iga and Koga are at war and the story becomes interesting when Oboro(Iga) and Gennosuke(Koga) fell in love with each other and are forced to battle each other. Torn between love and duty they fulfilled their destiny.
It is a very touching movie :)
