Start new discussion is more valuable?

MyLot is for DISCUSSIONS: We each earn for our own activity, not for the activity of others. This means that if you start a topic as a discussion you will not earn for the responses of others. YOU will earn if you comment, with an interesting quality comment, to the responses left by others. Those who respond will earn for the response, not you. Therefore you can decide which you prefer doing, knowing that if you start a discussion you must then follow it through if YOU wish to earn from it.

I do not think it is just like that. myLot said in their FAQs that to have our earnings increase we should post quality content and it's mean not only make a new topic discussions, but post responses, post comments and upload some photos either.. I am not very much sure about these. But have heard it many times here. But i rarely start discussions when I really want to ask or share something. I do not like starting any discussions just for matter of starting one.

I am not sure if what Mysdiana here is telling the right facts, because it was a bit shocking, i heard this for the first time. that means am compelled to comment on every response that goes around my topic? well, not bad..i don't need to raise my post number that is

I think we should do both... start new discussions and add comments. I'm still fairly new here, haven't got the kick of it yet... by the time I read and responded to a long discussion, it took me a good 15 minutes at least; sometimes even more. So it's our choice to react and work out the best solution that is most suitable to our schedules and interest.

I'm new here but as far as I can see you earn for what you type yourself. So if you start a discussion you will earn for the original post, and then for good responses to each persons who posts on that thread - you don't earn from what THEY write but more comments give you more to respond to, and also by being someone who responds to peoples posts (its nice to be acknowledged, after all!) you will encourage a good discussion. Does that make sense?!

This site does not reveal how it sets its pay scale. I guess the only way to find out for sure just to make new posts one day, and replies on the second day and then compare the two. It seems when I add pictures I seem to get more remuneration. However adding pictures seems to take more time.

What I understand you earn also in starting discussion but you earn more when the discussion got responses and you post comments to these responses, so for zero response you don't earn much but you earn for posting a new discussion. That's why me too I concentrate on posting responses if I see a few response to my started discussion but lately I posted new discussions again as am quite inspired having more responses.

Hello friend, I would politely like to disagree. I am not much of a discussion starter myself and most of my time is spent in reading the discussions, thinking about the response and then typing it out. I agree that I do not make a great deal of money here but that is because I do not spend much time here. I hardly spend fifteen minutes a day typing here. considering that, I have made payouts twice in the last 3-4 months so I don't think that's bad. You just need to add quality content to the site, be it by responding discussions or by commending on the responses of your own discussions, doesn't really matter. happy earning

I think it depends on the discussion, as if it isn't quality, you make nothing. You can earn from posting responses as that is what I mainly do as I don't start that many discussions. I get my payout by doing so, so it really depends on your psots and if their quality no matter if you start discussions, post responses or comments. Soem people would just prefer to post discussions, that is okay but they muut be quality, and it is like diana said, that you have to comment to the responses you get as you only get paid for your own activity. It is in your best inerst to post comments from responses to your discussions. Just keep this in mind and you will see your earnings increase. I hope this has helped. Its very simple. You earn for what you write,along with quantity & quality. The advantage of starting of a new discussion is, your chances of getting a +ve rating is more if your discussion is good. Now if you get more positive rating, You will earn more as earnings are calculated according to DRS(discussion rating system). Also It will be good to see some good discussions started by you getting high responses & hence your discussion is successful.

There is no such hard and fast rule here.If you start a discussion and let responses come in but do not comment on them yourself,then you will not earn much.You have to do all tasks equally if you want to maximize your earnings here.That is to say when you write relevant responses to topics started by others or comment on a response left by someone on a particular topic (even one which you have not started)you earn for that provided that the responses or comments are not one-liners but well thought-out and pertaining to the topic or comment.To earn more try writing at least 5 lines or more for each comment or response that you leave here.I do both-start my own topics if the need arises and if I have anything in mind as well as respond and comment on the responses received to my own topics or those left by others on different discussions if I find I have something to say related to that particular matter. The truth is that you earn from your participation not from others so if you response with good quality response you can earn more than 5 cents with that response and starting a discussion you earn from the quality of that discussion and from your commments it's like others said I response i earn. you comment you earn:D

i think its more valuable to start a discussion because with out discussions what are we going to comment on. so that makes them a little more important. also discussions are important because not everyone will want to responde to certain subjects the discussion is about. so they get to choose from alot. or you know they could just write there on discussion. that would work. oh also one day there were not many questions being made so i think mylot became a little inactive. so its important to see more discussions sometimes than it is to see more comments because it would get boring seeing the same thing.

I personally don't know clearly how is the pay rate system in here. All i know is we all need to be more active if we want to earn more money in here. I don't know if discussion is more valuable. But based on my own experiences, i think a valuable discussion is a discussion which has a lot of responses. So, although you starting alot of discussions but if there's only few responses you get, then those discussions won't be valuable as you want. I prefer to responding other's discussions because it's more attractive for me. I like to share my opinions and my thoughts to helping other's problem. Starting a discussion perhaps is a good choice, but you must make an interesting and attractive discussion in order to get more value from your discussion. Some discussion which only asking silly question will worth nothing for you. I can see there's alot of interesting discussion which can get more than ten responses. But there's also alot of discussion which only get one or two responses with contain only one or two sentences inside, or even no response at all. So, starting a new discussion needs more interesting idea in order to get many feedback from other members. Don't thinking about the revenue of a discussion, but think about how will your discussion attracting more people to post their responses there. Good luck and have a nice day. Happy mylotting.
