I actually finished a book but I can not for the life of me think of a title. I finished it on Friday and I have not thought of a good enough title that really goes with the story. Is that weird or what? Hopefully I can think of one soon and hopefully it's a catchy one that makes the book stand out from other books.

hi, it's not weird at all. Maybe there are many options in your mind. Write them down. Think about your target readers and who will buy the book. I hope it helps.

Yeah it should be a title that focuses on teenagers and draws them in. I want them to pick up the book and actually read it. Thanks for the tip.

A lot of books I read usually their titles is tied in with something a character says in the story, or the theme of the book. I like it when it's tied in with something that is said in the story because it really ties the story together for me. I figure you already have a title for your book, so instead I'll just say congratulations.

Hey thanks for the well wishes! And yeah I did come up with a title but it has nothin to do with what one of the characters may have said. It was actually inspired by a famous movie that deals with high school, which is what I wrote about, so I'm really excited about it. Now all I have to do is get an agent and sell it. Hopefully.

I've seen some of those sites about self-publishing but I don't think I'll be good at it to tell you the truth. I probably won't be able to sell too mnay copies. I want to go the route of an agent becuase they know what they are doing to get me a contract with a publishing house and the publishing houses do what they have to do to make sure that my book sells. After that all I have to worry about it writing my book and having fun with it.

the best book titles aren't always so obvious. Sometimes the best titles are taken from obscure, but very meaningfull lines from with in the story. Read back through it and see if there is a particularly relevent and meaningfull ine in the story, one that really defines the mood and feeling of the book. Avoid cliche titles like "the something-or-other". A catchy title is important, you are absolutely right about that. If you have a publishing agent, they too might be able to suggest a title, they have experience in this and can probably guide you in your selection.

Yeah your very right. When I start revising it I'm going to pay really close attention and see if the title jumps out at me from some of the lines or something. Mostly when I pick books to read I pick them up because of their titles and then I read the blurb. So the title is an important part so that I can get readers to actually pick it up.

hi ayumitakashi good for you.I wrote a novel several years back and sent it out to publishers but no luck.since then the'postage has been so high I have just let it sit. As re. your title,I am sure something will come to you out of the book itself. Had you thought of a title before you started it? Maybe looking at the people in it will give you a clue as to a good title.

That's the part that I am nervous about. I'm not going to think too much about sending it out to publishers yet. Right now i'm just going to work on making it better and then get an agent. I did think of the title before I started it but I didn't come up with anything so I just forgot about it until now.

My stories is still undone...my story has real characters, climax, every detailed plot for the story, but it seems i can't fully have the idea to give title to my story.... I found that to be the hardest of all....

Yeah it's pretty hard to come up with a title that you like and that will make the story stand out to the readers. Good luck!

The story is about these four girls in high school and all the things that happen to them. Like the tears, fights, heartbreaks and all that other stuff and through it all they are always there for each other no matter what.
