I have just spent a week with my first cousins whom I haven't seen for more than thirty years. Although two have passed away, it was one of the best weeks my wife of ten years) and I have spent. We were welcomed at their house, and they insisted we stay there. This was in one of Victoria's most picturesque places, Port Fairy. Have you ever been reunited with friends or relatives after a long absense? How did it go?

It sounds like a great time mipen! Over thirty years is a very long time, I bet you had just a bit of catching up to do!
I have relatives in Italy who I haven’t seen for about fifteen years and I recently caught up with my cousin on Facebook and as we chatted we realised that we had not come to face with each other for over twenty years.
Not much chance of seeing each other just yet I'm afraid...

Hi mipen,
How wonderful for you and your Wife to have reconnected with a Family member.
What a Joy that is!
After 28 Years of no contact I found my sisters phone number on the Internet.
I called her, she did not know our Mother had passed away since our mother also lived in the states and my sister in Germany where I'm from.
We talked a little hesitant but soon the conversation flowed and would not stop ..not for 4 hours anyway.
3 days later, it was Thanksgiving , she called me and asked if I would come visit with my Dad and husband. we agreed and in Feb 07 we made that trip overseas. It was a GREAT Reunion. We stayed for 10 Days and boy the Tears would not stop when we seen each other and when we said our Good byes. we purchased a golden heart with the inscription I Love you, the heart was designed to be halved and her and I ALWAYS wear our separate half .
My Sister is 10 years older than me ( but looks younger than me ) wait..whats up with that? LOL
we still call each other on the phone talk over the computer via IM etc.
I am blessed to be back in touch with her.

That's a great heartwarming story, a_ motherstouch. Just before I knocked on my cousin's door, I had a strange feeling of uncertain in my stomach, but that was replaced by a warm feeling in y heart, and the welcome my Thai wife got was unbelievable. After she cooked a couple of meals, they wanted to keep her. Thank you for your response.
