Would you REALLY want to be a millionaire?

Now all of us love the thought of having lots and lots of money but have you ever really thought about how life would change for you if you had an endless amount of money? Money tends to cause tension between family and friends, think about how much tension having an unlimited amount of money would cause. If you know of a rich person, are they happy? If they're happy, are they happy because of their money, or happy because of the friends and family they have to share it with.
So back to my original question, would you REALLY want to be a millionaire? Especially if you knew that chances were that every single person you know even ones you didn't know that well would be coming up to you asking you for money & chances are you would probably lose some close friends and family?
Feel free to share your input.

Well, with a million dollars and some common sense you can easily change that million into billions, i'm sure. Just my thoughts though, anyways.

I know everyday people who have that kind of money. They do not flaunt it. They help when it is the right time to help. They do not live a flashy lifestyle. They are volunteers. They do kind deeds. They use their resources in a very conservative way and have always been hard workers. When money comes our way the worse thing we can do is to do whatever we want, that will ruin anyone and anything. I first honor God with what He has given me then I ask Him to show me what to do with the rest. That is when it really becomes a huge blessing. I am not giving money to anyone that would enable them. I am helping those who really really need the help. Our time is just as precious as a pocket full of money in helping others. This is something I learned many years ago in a very small job. It has served me well for many years. It is not the money or blessings that is bad. It is how we approach prosperity. If we use it without guidance and selfishly, it will do us in every time.

Yeah, money is needed and most definitely important.. but too much money.. I always felt is a bad thing unless it was gradually earned and earned by someone with at least some degree of ethics, and one that doesn't flaunt that he's rich all over the place.

I remember a survey conducted here in Australia a few years ago. Previous major lottery winners were surveyed, asking for responses as to the difference in their lives since their win.
The result showed that the vast majority were worse off in most aspects - family life, social and financial. Most major wins were followed soon after with divorce and family breakdowns. Wealth does not bring happiness as is evidenced in the lives of many of the rich and famous.
I think there is a big difference in people's attitudes to money depending on their birth and upbringing. People born into wealthy families handle money differently from those who have not experienced wealth.
I am happy with my life the way it is. Being a millionaire doesn't interest me.

The things i've seen it seems when people have a lot of money is that a family member or friend want money and you might give some to them but it always seems they want more hence the huge tension that always seems to happen when people suddenly strike it rich.

I would also do things for my friends and family. I feel it's always important to share your wealth with people you care about.

as you said, money will cause tension between relatives and friends..whether u have it or u don't have it. the outcome is still they same. therefore i really wish i could become a millionaire one day but keep low on my status, living like a normal people, donates to charity secretly, help family members which is in need. i believe when we keep low, people won't simply take advantages on us.

i think it would be fun to give it a shot. seriously though those of us without money have worries and those who have a lot of money also have worries as to who are their real friends or just frineds because they have a lot of money and also worries about their own security.

Instead of counting countless money on the bed,I want to enjoy my present life peacefully. If I have a huge amount of money overnight,I will have countless restless nights,I will imagine that someone will kill me to get that huge fortune.I reap what I sow. It's commom sense that money is devil to some degree.I am not agreesive. What I want is to live happily with my family forever.

Yeah, it's sad but true that some people will do just about anything to get their hadns on a lot of money which in a way is kind of counterproductive. Abduction, murder, robbery etc. all to get some money which they will never really get to use or might get to tops of a year before they get caught, arrested, and possibly sentenced to be in jail the rest of their life. Yay for family and friends :)

Actually I don't want to be a millionaire. I just want to live a normal life without being bothered by so many things. A millionaire won't live a peaceful life.

I think that really depends how you get the money in the first place whether it be winning the lottery or perhaps slowly building it up. It also matters in relation to how much media attention you get. I figure the more media attention and the more people know that a given individual is rich the more people would pester them and the more tension would come about it from all over the world.

I think if you are gradually a millionaire then you can adjust to it better than someone who has gone from unknown to super-stardom over night. There are plenty of stories about young sports stars and musicians who have maybe gone off the rails at one point because the amount of money and fame is just too much all of a sudden.
If I became a Millionaire I would want to gradually increase my wealth so therefore not to change me as a person. Arrogance can easily arise it's head if you have so much money that everyday your wealth is more than many people make in years.

Yeah, your right. Gradually working your way up to become a millionaire is so much better then one day your not and the next day you are. Most people just aren't used to it and tend to not know what to do with it then to spend spend spend!

Of course. To be a millionaire is a part of a persons dreams and ambition I have asked this same question to my fellow classmates and all of them replied with almost the same answer and that yes, I want to be a millionaire. But just the thought of being a millionaire where you can buy anything you want and enjoy life to its fullest pushes me to be a millionaire someday.

Sure, I would love being a millionaire. Believe it or not, it's pretty easy to tell when someone ACTUALLY loves you, or if they don't. Also, I wouldn't mind helping people if they needed a little extra money, as long as I had enough to spare.

Yeah you do have a point but at the same time people that did love you and felt you were a very important presence in their life might become a money-grubber. Money causes greed which= tension. Not a good combination!

I wouldn't want to be a millionare. It sounds good at first, but, after a while I think I would get bored. How many times can you really go to Paris, or Hawaii? Our planet is big, but, it's not that big. I havehad large sums of money at different times and it seems like around the third day of shopping, I don't want to go anymore. I get tired, I'm bored, I really just want to go back to my couch. If I were single, I would be worried that people were just dating me because I was rich and not for who I am. So, no, I don't think I want to be a millionare.

A millionaire or having an unlimited supply of money because they are two very different things. I mean a million isn't as much as you might imagine especially if it is in dollars.

hey louie,
Who would ever say no to a few millions.. LOL
Even millionaires look forward to making a few more millions..
I would never say NO to any legitimate for of money. i would make money illegally or by cheating people, but if i can make money the right way, then i would.
Who wouldnt?
I agree that money is known to be the roost cause of all evil.. but we should always know not to let wealth get into our heads and make us arrogant..

Don't let ourselves control by the money because money can give us power. All of us want to be a millionaire it can give us happiness for a while. Being a millionaire is very difficult because you worry to much that you might be kidnap or rob. If I'm going to be a millionaire I'm gonna use my wealth to help others who are in need I'm going to live a simple life like Buffett. Many are being greedy in accumalating more wealth even if they already a millionaire.

I love to do many good things and i love to set up a charity organisation. But for that I need money and for this purpose I'd like to become a millionaire. Not all who are rich gonna be a happy lot. Money is an addiction. Howmuch ever you earn, you still would be feeling that you are short of something. Hence I do not have any ardent intention to become a millionaire. But I'd like to earn some money to serve the poor and needy. Have a great day and happy earnings at Mylot. Cheers:-)

Money is all that we need noways, this can't give a life with everything I guess. The most appropriate meaning to money would be, today tomorrow and yesterday,it never stays nor leaves at times.Millionaire, that's at huge risk at hand ,with normal lives ,normal people, life is like living, but everyone wants to be the guy with everything at his/her footsteps and never seen before luxury.Well I am happy with what I have today and would likely act to maintain that, surely an increased pay or bonus, give anyone a lot of happiness, but we cannot forget the thing ,'greediness should never come by'.
