do you think you'd be the same person if you'd been born to different parents?

i sit and wonder from time to time whether i would be a much different person if i had been born to different parents. wondering if my experiences have shaped me so much. would i still be into the same things that i am into now or would i for instance like a different style of music. me and my sister are so radically different from each other even though we were raised together under the same conditions, and there is only a 2 year age difference between us. do you ever wonder that?

Well for me, I guess I'd be completely different If I would be born with other parents. Because I believe that parents place a major role in shaping our character and personality thus greatly affect of who we are. Like our hobbies, dislikes and everything was definitely influenced by our parents, they were our first teachers.
Aside from that, when you're born with an abusive parents, you'll tend to behave and exhibit unkind words and actions. While if you'd grown up with a friendly and loving parents you'll tend to be affectionate, kind and respectful.
So for me, having a different parents completely change or affect your personality.

see herein lies the rub. my mother is a very religious woman, not in the least bit alternative. i am the only one in my family who is this way. i do not know how i came to be this diverse accepting person. my mother is also against homosexuality and has certain old fashioned somewhat dated ideas about certain things in life. my sister is the same as she is, they could even almost be the same person. i sometimes wonder what it is about me that made me turn out different, and be into the things that i am into. i have always been like this, my mother's influence only went as far as to make me respect all and fear nothing.

I think I'll be a differrent person if I had been born to different parents. Though maybe the same attitude towards God and neighbors if same born to catholic parents. It maybe differ too to what kind of upbringing the other parents will do. The social status of the parents would surely shaped us differently and their beliefs and principles.

it's weird for me because me and my sister have a completely different belief structure and interests. i mean we are both good people, and we respect others and i am not religious but spiritual, and she is very religious. our kid brother on the other hand has turned out to be quite different, he is a little more selfish and more self centered than i remember.
